In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

just bought my first ball ! now what ???

In that case. You have a whole lot of options! Enchi combos, super pastel or pastel combos, vanilla combos, fire combos, way too many to list. I'd check kingsnake and fauna for a while. You'll know when you see what you want :) The problem is you won't be able to stop at 3! Well, we couldn't anyways lol.

A good tool to view morphs and combos is:
http://www.worldofballpythons.com/morphs/

They also have a genetic calculator you can play with to see what combos you can make with your BEL.

These would work nicely...
2009 Woma female at 1005 g feeding on small rats. $850
2009 Red Axanthic female Weighs just at 1000 grams Asking $1350
Large adult female Pastel Ball Python $1000.

If you just bought your first ball and catch the fever like everyone else, a couple of new racks would probably be a good idea:thumbsup:
If you have the money I would get some mystic, phantom and yellowbelly genes in your collection, but thats just my opinion.

Step one: Follow this link http://www.vpi.com/store and purchase the Barkers Ball python book.

Step two: Read the entire book.

Step three: purchase a rack and fill it.

Step four: Enjoy!

Honestly you can't get a better book than this one by the Barkers. I actually have two. One I had Dave and Tracy sign and one I drag around with me everywhere. I have read it cover to cover and still go back to check some stuff out. It had every thing you want to know about ball pythons in it. The only thing not in there are some of the newer morphs but, once you understand how the different types of genes work (recessive, dominant and "co-dom") you can do the punnet squares or use a genetics calculator to figure out what you could get. You have a nice male there, spend the $80 to get this book I guarantee you will not regret it!

Oh did I mention it has some amazing pics and like 20 pages of color morph photos?

Good luck!

thanks for all the help so far  Today I am building my rack from melamine and 28 qt. tubs from target. I allready have 15 feet of 11 inch flexwatt that I am going to cut into 6 inch pieces and install on my rack and I also bought a rancho thermostat so when I get my lucy he will go straight into a rack. My favorite morph is pied and my goal is to breed my lucy to 3 high end females that will produce high end morphs so I can trade them for 2 male and 6 female pieds next year :D

My rack is done and he will be here Thursday. I am just going to look for 3 Lucy females so all the babies are Lucy
I'd suggest getting 3 different females so your not trying to sell 20+ hatchlings of the same kind of snake ;)
but that's just me...

Buying 3 sub adult females to raise up till they are ready to breed is a wonderful plan
for someone new to the hobby :yesnod:
