In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just came in, concerned

I purchased a 0.2 het albino pair of ball pythons. One turned out to be male, the other female.

The female I'm concerned with. Attached are two head shots. Anyone seeing what I am? She's also wheezing a bit and gaping her mouth open.

It appears to me that she experienced some sort of trauma to the top of her head, or it's a birth defect of some sort. She's not very strong either, barely grips when coiled around my arm...

Any opinions???

Looks "Dain Bramaged"

I don't know about trauma to the head. It may have been born that way. Did you notify the seller to note your concern or displeasure? I would not accept an animal like that.

I do not think

I would be happy with them. The female has something wrong for sure, either trauma or genetic, not sure which but either way she could be a problem animal. Has the seller been informed of the missexed animal?

Yes, he has been informed of the missexed boa. I didn't really take note to the head until last night. I really wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that saw something wrong...

If it were me I'd be on the phone to the breeder and getting a refund arranges, for both.....one is missexed and the other is "damaged goods." Get the money back and get those things in a box and down to UPS ASAP.

I'm thinking a birth defect due to a calcium problem maybe, just from the pic's looks like both the skull and the way the neck vertebre attach look off. I'm not a vet and could be wrong, but I am sure it's an inferior animal and i would definatly send it back

That is so sad...

I took the liberty of copying those pics as I had a Vet. friend of mine coming over for lunch and a once-over for my critters. (It's easier than hauling everyone to his office!) I figured you wouldn't mind a professional look-see.

He couldn't be exactly sure just by looking if it more nearly resembled a birth defect or some trauma that could have occurred. He did say what the rest have been saying, that he would indeed send the animal back and that he would never try to breed her. He also wanted me to note that as the animal grows that defect may induce major complications down the road.

Poor girl. Hope this helps you out, she is a pretty snake. It's sad to see her that way.

Thank you, LB. I feel bad sending her back to him...But I can't have paid the money I did for a "damaged" snake...When I could spend the money elsewhere and get higher quality.

I also wanted to add...The seller and I have agreed for the return to happen Tues to arrive Weds...My refund being put through when they arrive at his door...

Wanted to share these pics as well. This gorgeous little girl I picked up at Havre De Grace this afternoon. I love her colors! She looks hypoish to me (I'm not boa morph expert!). :)

I am glad you resolved this with the seller, although I would implore him to have her checked out by his vet. I'm hoping it was just an oversight on his part as sometimes us smaller hobbyists can give our critters, especially ones we are excited about getting, a better once-over than someone who has a lot of little mouths to feed and such. It could be he never really got the chance to look her over real good.

Your new little one is beautiful too! Luck with her!:)

Wanted to update...

Shipping was delayed Thursday for Friday (I wanted to ship Weds, he wanted to ship Thurs). He insisted upon DHL, so I gave in and had them back the boxed pair from my home. Friday comes and they ended up in TN instead of KY! I hate DHL! Luckily between the two of us, we got them to deliver 10am Saturday. I received $350 of my $375 payment. The refund is actually still "pending" because it's supposed to come out of his bank account.

Glad you're getting things straightened out. If he let's you know would you let us know what the seller's vet thinks might be the problem? Dr. Rex has asked me twice about her and I too am curious.

How's the new baby doing? Bet she's spoiled!
