In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was tired of having a plain white phone case and didn't want to shell out a fortune to buy a new one. I went and found a vinyl sticker that I really liked on eBay and started my project.

1. Sanded my phone case with some 2000 grit sand paper
2. Cleaned it off and then painted it with a sponge brush to a distressed look that I liked.
3. Let it dry for 30 minutes & then applied another coat.
4. Let it dry for an hour.
5. Applied the vinyl sticker
6. Blotch painted over it with 3 different colors
7. Let it dry for over an hour
8. Peeled the vinyl sticker off
9. Came out with a phone case that I find really pretty.
(I still have to clear coat it. But I will have to do that tomorrow because I have to find the clear coat and I think it's in the art closet in the kids room... )

Total cost out of pocket was $4.00 since I already had all the other supplies. Total time was approximately 3 hours so far (before clear coating and letting that dry.)

End product: Something I LOVE! I totally LOVE the way I turned my old boring phone case into something that's colorful and I can live with! LOVE IT!

I just don't have the patience or creativity to get artsy. If you didn't already know, Amazon.com is a great place for low-priced cell phone accessories. It's the last place I'd go for an actual phone, but there's an ungodly assortment of garish cases for pretty much any phone imaginable.

Oh, I totally get that, but problem is, it wouldn't be a Ballistic case that provides a crapton of protection. lol And my phone takes a beating! I have dropped it several times and had no damage because of my case. I used to have an artsy fartsy one on a different phone I had; dropped it one time and the phone screen shattered.

So I figured that since Ballistic only offers a couple colored cases (as of the last time I checked) for my phone, I'd just do it myself! (Side note: I just checked their site and Ballistic only offers white & grey, black & white and black cases for my phone...But if I had an iPhone they'd have more colors... Blah!)

Brandi that phone case is BEAUTIFUL!!! :)

Thanks Lucille! :D

I'm going to clear coat it here in the next couple of days, so I can give the paint enough time to cure.

My other half clear coated it yesterday, and it cured enough for me to put it back on my phone (thanks to sitting in the sun for hours.) But here it is after the clear coat. I think it looks Fab!
