    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Look at this ad!!!

Yea, I think that should be sold as a pet only. Kinda looks like it may have a oversized eye too?

On another note, she has an ad for "Bell Line Blazing Blizzards $100 ea." too. I tend to think they are Trempers from the Bells, when I see that, but you never know.

I doubt she is a year old, her tail to body comparison doesn't look that bad, not great but not starved or anything.

Either way the ad is not telling something, she cannot be a year old and weigh 15 grams and her tail and body not be a total toothpick.

no.

but what if there was a "dwarf" gene?

If there was I don't want it anywhere near my collection.... Besides, if there is a "dwarf" gene, and they are that small, it is unlikely a female would survive being gravid....

Glad you brought this one up

'Joanne' is actually Gene Black of this thread. I'm not positive, but if I had to guess, I'd say he posts under his wife's name to keep the BOI searches from coming up with anything.

I was looking into buying a couple RWPA's a while back and Gene bought the whole group before I could get a couple. Then, they showed up for sale again on KS about a week later. After I made the connection between Joanne and that BOI thread, I decided to not purchase from him, especially since the geckos had just been shipped to him days earlier. Now I'm real glad I didn't get them, especially after all the crap we're seeing materialize from the 'late?' great Chris Johnson and Top Shelf Exotics.

Yeah, and there's no way that gecko is 15g and a year old.

Can you clue me in on whats up with top shelf exotics and chris johnson?

Chris swindled alot of people out of hundreds of thousnads of dollars. thats the short version i heard. theres also some stuff floating around about heart attacks and cocaine addiction. I dont know if the last 2 things are true or not, but I do know there is some fraud in there.

That has got to be the biggest BOI thread yet.... I dont know if I have 2 spare days to read all of that...LOL

I stopped reading that thread about 200 posts deep and I still had no idea what was REALLY going on... I've been looking for the short answer for a while.

That said... 15 grams and year old? Also notice that while claiming a possible drawf gene they don't include any size reference in the picture... so who knows how big that gecko actually is. Also, if you're going to advertise something like that, how about some pictures of the parents or some more background? Definitely something not right.

Bottom line is that Chris 'sold' a lot of ball pythons (and other animals?) that he didn't deliver on. Many people apparently got the same excuses many of us did that the weather wasn't warm enough to ship or his shipper (fedex) would not allow him to send that many boxes out each day. Well, I guess he didn't send them this time. Also, one of the customers received a couple sick snakes. Many people appeared afraid to put the situation out in public based on Chris's popularity or attitude, or both, it seems.

Once Chris's fraudulent behaviour came to light, those of us who received 'het' animals began doubting whether we have true hets or not.

Gene didn't include any info on the parents of this gecko because he probably knows nothing about them. He buys/resells animals as he is a broker. I'm not sure how much he actually produces himself.

Im sorry but this "lady" joanne is an idiot, have any of you seen her previous ads, shes ridiculous.

Yeah, it is Gene Black. And that gecko should not be sold as a "cool" new morph or whatever. How sad. And he does not have Bell Blazings, they are Tremper Blazings that were probably produced by Mark Bell, who does a lot of wholesaling. What a joke!
