In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We haven't been using Lucky Lure crickets that long, maybe 3 months or so but, I just wanted to give some credit where credit is due.  We have tried many of the cricket suppliers out there, and with some we get excuses, with Lucky Lure we get Crickets.  Our first experience with them we decided to get a few thousand crickets and they were great.  The sizes were correct, the count was awesome, and they even enclosed a free 3-5 pound bag of feed free of charge.  A week or two later we put in our second order of 4 thousand crickets which we picked up in person at a show where we were both vendoring at.  The count on them looked so good we asked to purchase another box on top of the 4 thousand as well.  Not only did we get another box of great crickets, but we got TWO boxes free of charge, accompained by a hand shake and a 'thanks for your business'.   We have ordered from them since and are completely satisfied with the crickets sent to us.  They arrive fast and good condition with little or no D.O.A.s in the box and the count has been consistantly good.  I have found some pest bugs in there, but nothing to worry about.  They do sell Meal and Wax worms too, and I'm seriously considering switching from our worm supplier now, to them if the worms are half as good as the crickets.  The web site for Lucky Lure is www.cricketsluckykure.com if your interested we think you'll agree that they know thier bugs!
Thanks for your time        .....Mike and Erica

Mike,

It's always good to hear about reliable feeder vendors - but I have a question - How in blue-blazes do you check the cricket count - manually count them all?   That would drive me crazy.

if there is a short cut - tell me.  I normally dump the 2 grand I get in the container and go - "hmm, that looks about right!"

thanks for the info on the worm vender!!!

LOL Monte,  Well of course I dont count them individually or anything, one, two, three, four......LOL!  You just get to know what a thousand crickets normally last you, and when you open the boxes you shouldn't feel like you just got sent a box of 500 instead of 1000.  I really have no complaints about that when Lucky Lure is concerned.  Give em' a shot and try a thousand or so yourself and you tell me what you think....  Take care.....Mike

Mike....I use a company in South Florida called, "Lazy H Bait"....mainly because they are only ONE DAY AWAY by Regular US mail....They told me something that really made sense....You are NOT PAYING FOR THE CRICKETS! They are FREE! What you DO pay for...are the boxes, the advertising, the electric, the AC, the employees, etc, etc, etc....I go through 23 BOXES of Crickets PER WEEK!! I carry Pinheads, 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4"! THEY SAY they dump about 1500 crickets in PER BOX (I believe them), and about 3-4 potato chunks in, because, if they didn't get rid of the crickets, they'd have to LITERALLY get rid of the cickets! So, what the heck, give them to the customers!! That allows me to sell crickets for 25 for $1.50....But, I CAN'T COUNT!! Heck, I couldn't count to 21, less I was Naked!! lol
I give A LOT of crickets for the money!! And MY KIDS eat great, too!!

As far as counting crickets??? That's EASY!!! You count the LEGS and DEVIDE BY SIX!!!! How simple is that???

If Lucky Lure is doing it RIGHT...that's all that counts....of course, Lazy H Bait doesn't sell worms (which I also carry)...I might just give them a call...it's a lot better than having them flown in from California!

BTW....Mike, you MIGHT want to check the E-MAIL you posted concerning Lucky Lure....I THINK you put a "K" instead of an "L"?? Am I right??? ....Neil

Neil,  Are you stalking me? LOL...  Yes, you are correct and thanks, the web address for Lucky Lure IS www.cricketsluckyLure.com  Im gonna give the worms a try next week with my order and see how they are.  I have no doubt they will be excellent quality but its hard to find good quaility wax worms from my experience with many Feeder suppliers.  Take it easy....Mike

OK, my eyes are a little buggy, but here we go.

5658 cricket legs divided by 6 = 943.

Dang Neil, I got shorted crickets!!!

( by the way, many of my crix were less than 1/2 inch - DANG hard to count)

Hey Monti....It looks like SOMEONE owes you 342 LEGS!!

And Mike....With Pinheads, it's EASIER to look UP from UNDER the tank!! The legs are EASILY more visible! How long you been in this business NOT to know that??? Amateurs! lol ....Neil

Hey Neil.....How can I find Lazy H Bait?  I am in need of a new supplier and would like to try them and/or Lucky Lure.  I tried searching the web, but didn't find a website.

Thanks,
Michele Beverly

Hi everyone.

I use and have used both LUcky Lure & Lazy-h-Bait.  Both are Florida based crix Buisiness and I am sure that Lazy-h-bait only ships to locations within The state Of Florida and I am pretty sure Lucky Lure is the same.  If you need to contact Lucky Lure you can see their new ad in the newest reptile Magazine along with the ad for the Exotic animal and reptile show.  As far as Lazy-h-bait you can find their information in the back of reptiles magazines in the classifieds area under food.

Lucky Lure

Well just thought I would bump this to the top to let everyone know what happened today.
Tracy from lucky lure called me this morning at 8 am or so and said that dhl didn't pick up yesterday cuz the driver quit......Something I am sure we can ALL Relate to!
Anyways, I was totally out of crickets for the weekend (we go through around 20,000 a week). So she said the owners wife would hand deliver them to us, and said she would be here by noon.

She was here by noon with the crickets, just like they said. I know I buy more than the average joe, but it is nice to know that some companies still try to keep their customers happy.

Oh by the way, she said she had to go up to gainesville, drop off another shipment then head to miami for a show!

Thanks Lucky Lure!

TOM
