    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is my most recent rescue "lucky" rightfully named because I believed she was close to death.

Lucky is a 2009 female pastel, I got her last sunday 5-8-11 from a local person here in san diego.....she kinda just fell into my hands I was not looking for another snake LOL.But after seeing her I could not turn her down, she was the most emaciated looking snake I have EVER SEEN!

When I picked her up she was completely limp and I could run my fingers down her sides and FEEL EVERY SINGLE RIB BONE IN HER BODY, Not to mention see her spine pretty clearly. I honestly thought that this snake had absolutely no chance of surviving this. Once I got her home I gently placed her on my scale and she weighed in at ONLY 300 grams and she is 3ft plus!!!!!! I have a 2010 female pastel that is 800 grams! I could not believe it! I set her up in her quarantine cage and gave her a bowl of fresh water (which she could barely lift her head to drink) I had to help her get to the water bowl and she drank like she hasnt seen a drop of water since the day she was born! I was not sure if she would have the strength to kill anything so I offered her a pre-killed mouse and she took it almost instantly. I sat and watched her eat to make sure she would be okay. It took her a while to get it down but she eventually did. Lucky has ate for me 4 times since I got her a week ago and put on about 40ish gram (give or take some) I think this girl is going to make a full recovery and she will NEVER EVER EVER have to go through that pain again!!!!!!

Now for the other shocking part to this story........when I asked why the snake was in such poor condition this is the answer I got.........

I had her in with 3 other ball pythons, and everytime I threw mice into the cage she was not fast enough to catch any!
Meaning this person had a total of 4 ball pythons in one cage and fed them all together at the same time in the SAME CAGE!!!!!!!
:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

I mean come on! How many idiots can there really be in this world!? :shrug01:
Seriously if you dont know how to take care of an animal, or have the time, or the money why in the world would you get a pet?! It just makes me completely sick and angers me to the point that I should probably go to anger management classes to learn how to deal with the raging anger I get when anybody neglects an animal!!!!!!!

I know there will be plenty more animals out there suffering from idiots who like to neglect there pets, and that not all of them can be saved.

BUT LUCKY WILL BE ONE LAST SAD NEGLECTED AND MISTREATED ANIMAL ON THAT LIST!

Makes me really want to lock those people in a cellar somewhere in the middle of no where chained to the center of the room and place water, steaks, hamburgers, fries, milkshakes, sandwiches, pizza, and everything else you can think of that sounds good all around them.......and when I go check on them and they say there hungry Ill tell them "well theres food all around you......what you cant reach it?"

To everybody on here who has had the heart, time, and devotion to be able to save a sick neglected starving near dead animal......or what ever the situation of neglect may be......

THANK YOU!!!!!!
You have all my respect and support!
Please take care and keep a look out for animals in need!

Well I have to say I am very glad she is in good hands, it seems like she's doing a lot better and I hope that she makes a full recovery! I don't know what's wrong with people sometimes, I mean keeping 4 of them together right there is wrong. I'm glad Lucky was able to find someone who knows how to properly treat these beautiful animals.

yes she is very beautiful and has very nice blushing. We will see how quick she puts on weight.......She has only ate mice for me so far. I tried to offer her a small small rat (about the same size an adult mouse) and she would not take it. I want to get her switched to rats asap any tips?

If I am ever out west, I would like to shake your hand, Deb!

About the mice, scenting has always worked great for me. Whenever I have something that needs scenting I usually just let it run around in an empty dirty cage for a while. Thats how I got my IJCP onto rats and my bigger stuff onto rabbits and guinea pigs. If that doesn't work, I would stick with mice until she has some weight on her, then try skipping a meal and offering a scented rat. Works for me.

Thank you for the tips Ben and I will try it out in a couple days :) let me know when you decide to visit because I will definitely still be here :D

Thank you for all the support and kind words from everybody and I will keep her thread updated :)

Ugh I can't stand incompetent owners!!! Glad she is in good hands. I allow my rats to run around in mice bedding for 24 hrs. I agree with keeping her on what she is eating now but also wouldn't hurt to TRY a scented rat. (Try a hopper first) if she takes to rats she will gain some weight faster.

I go one step further with scenting and place a rat hopper in the cage with a few mice for a couple minutes( supervised) then feed them to my girl who won't even look at rats. She's eaten all 6 I've offered that way but still refuses them when not scented.

some updated pics. This girl is turning out to be a head turner. She is still kinda slow when it comes to eating and refuses some meals she has put on a good 120 grams which is better than nothing :D she will be nice and big with no time at all :)

:) thank you I hope she continues to make progress unlike some of my other balls who went off feed :angry: I have been offering her a medium size to large size mouse every 2-3 days and she usually will take them but sometimes it takes a while for her to figure out what to do LOL
