This is my most recent rescue "lucky" rightfully named because I believed she was close to death.
Lucky is a 2009 female pastel, I got her last sunday 5-8-11 from a local person here in san diego.....she kinda just fell into my hands I was not looking for another snake LOL.But after seeing her I could not turn her down, she was the most emaciated looking snake I have EVER SEEN!
When I picked her up she was completely limp and I could run my fingers down her sides and FEEL EVERY SINGLE RIB BONE IN HER BODY, Not to mention see her spine pretty clearly. I honestly thought that this snake had absolutely no chance of surviving this. Once I got her home I gently placed her on my scale and she weighed in at ONLY 300 grams and she is 3ft plus!!!!!! I have a 2010 female pastel that is 800 grams! I could not believe it! I set her up in her quarantine cage and gave her a bowl of fresh water (which she could barely lift her head to drink) I had to help her get to the water bowl and she drank like she hasnt seen a drop of water since the day she was born! I was not sure if she would have the strength to kill anything so I offered her a pre-killed mouse and she took it almost instantly. I sat and watched her eat to make sure she would be okay. It took her a while to get it down but she eventually did. Lucky has ate for me 4 times since I got her a week ago and put on about 40ish gram (give or take some) I think this girl is going to make a full recovery and she will NEVER EVER EVER have to go through that pain again!!!!!!
Now for the other shocking part to this story........when I asked why the snake was in such poor condition this is the answer I got.........
I had her in with 3 other ball pythons, and everytime I threw mice into the cage she was not fast enough to catch any!
Meaning this person had a total of 4 ball pythons in one cage and fed them all together at the same time in the SAME CAGE!!!!!!!

I mean come on! How many idiots can there really be in this world!?
Seriously if you dont know how to take care of an animal, or have the time, or the money why in the world would you get a pet?! It just makes me completely sick and angers me to the point that I should probably go to anger management classes to learn how to deal with the raging anger I get when anybody neglects an animal!!!!!!!
I know there will be plenty more animals out there suffering from idiots who like to neglect there pets, and that not all of them can be saved.
BUT LUCKY WILL BE ONE LAST SAD NEGLECTED AND MISTREATED ANIMAL ON THAT LIST!
Makes me really want to lock those people in a cellar somewhere in the middle of no where chained to the center of the room and place water, steaks, hamburgers, fries, milkshakes, sandwiches, pizza, and everything else you can think of that sounds good all around them.......and when I go check on them and they say there hungry Ill tell them "well theres food all around you......what you cant reach it?"
To everybody on here who has had the heart, time, and devotion to be able to save a sick neglected starving near dead animal......or what ever the situation of neglect may be......
THANK YOU!!!!!!
You have all my respect and support!
Please take care and keep a look out for animals in need!
