In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Made a nice bedding for mealworms. I'm going to add more oats still but I got it started. It has
Dried corn
Barley
Whole Wheat flour
Oats
Dog food
Sunflower seeds
bird food
all ground into a chunky powder

I couldn't find bran at No Frills. Oats were on sale though so I got 4 lbs of that. I'll try and make it out to Wal Mart and get some bran.

meal worms

I purchased red bran in a 50 lb bag at a feed store, occasionally I mix in rolled oats also available in bulk from feed store. I use raw quartered potatoes as the only source of moisture, set up in 32X24 inch fiberglass trays that slide into a wheeled bread type cart from a closed grocery store. The trays are 3.5 " deep and I have cut down on the number used due to too many worms. I keep threatening to pick up some deli cups and sell the excess, just too many other projects going on. I keep the rack in an animal room, warm in summer and heated in winter. Add potatoes more often in winter due to drier conditions. By the time I take out the dried skin of the potato, most of the bulk has been devoured.
Good Luck

Got to picl some bran up tonight now. The oats in the tub are almost gone and all sandy. Got about 10 of the alien things in there that I found

I always bought my horse "bran" to make bran mash. 50 lb bags at feed stores, and it was always really clean. My aunt used to take what she wanted to make bread and bran muffins.

I actually use the same stuff, works perfectly.. Now if I could just get myself to raise crickets I would be able to start that domain I bought 2 years ago..lol

I don't breed my mealies. I grind my stuff into a powder so I can sift them out come feeding time. I'm fairly allergic to them now, so I don't think that I could deal with the build up if I had a colony going. I start fresh every other week.

I use:
oats
flish flakes
any stale crackers / cereal we have around
cheap vitamin fortified cereal
chicken laying mash
