    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I did a transaction with Anthony Caggiano AKA Mowhawk Reptiles or whatever else he may go by? This was back in December of 2002. I had purchased a female yearling hognose from him. I got the box open and all I saw was a deli cup opened and the snake lying in the box with no packing at all. The snake had gotten out of the deli cup during transit. I couldn't believe there was no newspaper nothing to secure the deli cup. Well I got home to were I could see her a little better and turns out it was a male:( He said if I returned it and it was a male he would refund my money and shipping cost. Well, anthony quite returning my calls and e-mails. After makeing several attempts to get ahold of him, his wife gave me a list of excuses. It is now April and I have yet to get all of my refund.

Just wanted everyone to be aware of a potential bad business man!! Buy at your own risk.
 
Couple of things . . .

First, you have to post your full name on the BOI when you're making an assessment about a person/company like you've done in this thread. The easiest way to accomplish this task is to simply edit your signature line.

Second, I guess I'm a bit dense today, but you did send the hognose back? Is that right?

Third, what other information do you have on this person? Email, telephone, physical address, etc., all of these will help those who might be approached by this individual (especially if, as you implied, he might be using different business names). Further, such info may well help someone here who lives near this guy put you in touch with him.

i have never received animals from anthony but i have sent him two at least.
im surprised to hear the condition that you received your snake in.
anthony from my experience has been a very easy person to deal with..i received my funds in a timely manner and he was nothing less then courteous and all that a seller could ask of her buyer.
that being the case im surpised to hear that something like this could happen..has anyone made me aware of this thread and if so what was his response?

1st of all if you would look at my 2nd post, I did put my name and it would not allow me to edit my post. Yes, I did send the hognose back. Then anthony claimed he sent me 2 money orders which never showed up.. After 2 weeks went by, I e-mailed him again. He said I should have gotten them by now, and would send out another. well another month went by and anthony cut off all communication with me. I then had to deal with his wife, because anthony would not return my phone calls (yes, I do have his home number and called several times) nor reply to any of my e-mails. I have all e-mails of correspondance kept. why anthony had to turn me over to his wife I have no idea? His wife sent me half of the money owed, but still missing $80. Last 3 times, she said she would send it monday, and no money. She claims she is assuming a debt she had nothing to do with. Why won't anthony talk to me himself? As to what his business is called? His why says there is no mohawk reptiles.

Given that you had a grand total of five posts at the time, I thought that you did not yet know of the rule concerning the full name requirement. If you notice, the time frame separating your second post and my helpful hint is just a few minutes apart. Huh, you don't suppose I was typing my post when you submitted yours, do you? Maybe that's why I suggested you add your name??? :rolleyes:

Anyway, glad to see that you posted the rest of the required information. Now maybe those who want to help you out can do so.
 
Worst deal EVER!!!

Anthony C. is the single worst deal I have ever had on the Internet. I traded a Dumerils Boa for a 1.1 pair of Leopards a male albino and the female jungle. We set up a deal and we both agreed to ship the same day. We both did and he recieved my snake fine packed as I always do like this Shipping Details . I recieved my geckos but with a 8 hour hand warmer not a real heat pack. Nevertheless coming from New York in winter the hand warmer did nothing as it came in cold. Anyhow the geckos both came in alive but defected, I did like the female Jungle as her pattern was great but she had a VERY kinked tail. The males eyes were so undeveloped I couldn't believe he said he didn't even notice it, I still believe he knew one hundered percent it was severely flawed or he had never kept Leopard's before, or he just was clueless altogether. I have pics of the defected males eyes for all to see just ask or i'll post them here if nessacary. I notified him of this and he started making excuses about the Dumerils, how all the sudden it had mites ( sent out 6 others in that 2 week span and NO complaints) He also said it was super cold and had neurological damage. I don't know how he could determine this, and not see the albinos undeveleoped eyes though. I said that's impossible since he sent a 8 hour hand warmer and I sent a real 40 hour HEAT PACK. I said no way with the excuses and that he should just just send my snake back and i'll send back the geckos HAPPILY. He didn't want to for some reason (wonder why?!?), of course that being the fact the geckos were severely flawed and my snake was 100% healthy. So we agreed on him sending $50 to make up for the males eyes and I would give him away to a good home free of charge and I keep the female. He never sent the money. I called his home and he was beligerent, swearing, and even made threats against my life. I told him that I don't deal with customers like that and he needs to get some business ethics. He said plainly well " I'm a grown man and I can swear and say what I want". Funny I use the same reason of being a grown man to not act at all like that. Never the less I NEVER got the money from him and of course I never will. I meant to post sooner so noone else would get the tretment I did. I would aviod him like the Plague. i sent a link email to anthony yesterday but no telling if he received it..i got no word back..im saddened to hear this news about his dealings.
he does make a decent customer..too bad about being that sort of a seller.

i noticed he had some snakes for sale under the name of renee instead of his usual mohawk reptiles name about a week ago..i thought perhaps he wasent well or something and his wife was helping him along.
 
yea... I had that e-mail addy 1st too... and it was unsubscribed in the middle of my dealings too.... and then replied with a different one. I noticed when I went to buy my hognose he was listed as a different name, and after our deal went sour is when I noticed another post of him selling under the mohawk name.
 
So Matt, that $80. show up yet??? He said he sent 2 money orders on January 3rd right, I think they should have arrived by now? Just checking and wanting to bring this back up to the top for more people to read it.
 
No I have not got my balance and I don't think I will.... It has been an ongoing effort on my part to try and get it. If I don't keep calling and e-mailing they will just blow it off.. I have sent e-mails in the last few weeks with no response. It has been several months now, and am about to call it a loss. I just wanted to bring it to others attention to be aware of doing business with this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
those check in my e-mail he claims he sent out.. never showed up! I can't believe he doesn't have the balls to stand up to his own deals instead of makeing his wife handle it after he screws up!
