    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any great models of probe thermometers, infrared guns, or any other thermometer that gets the degree on the spot. I have tried two models, and maybe its just me but i have HORRIBLE luck with them. Its seriously a curse. Most of them have temperatures jumping around from almost 100 to 55. At least 3 of my 5 are consistently reading so far off its a joke. Strange? I don't think its anyone's fault besides the manufacturer. They mass produce them at a horrible quality and a high price! I'm willing to do anything to get the right temperatures, but i want something for my incubator as well as my rack (besides a thermostat). Something with a probe would be nice for that. Please share your favorite model and any tips you may have on it!

I use an InfraRed thermo, and proportional thermostats. The thermometer is "Sper Scientific" brand, and I think this is the model # 800049. It works great!

Oh, and "Taylor" brand in/out thermometers. Learned the hard way not to order the cheapies from some herp supply companies. They get the cheapest available it seems.

I'm using the Taylor in/out thermometers too (got from Beanfarm); and they are so much better than the more expensive Big Apple ones I got (can't remember exactly what its called, but its white colored with 2 probes, one for temperature and one for humidity). All the readings are way off!

I also have a temperature gun, its "SATO" I think its a Japanese brand, but it can only show in degrees Celsius.

Oh Beanfarm has those? Thats good. :)

I too bought some garbage from BA, two probes for temp on these though. Out of 3, only 1 actually displays the same temp for each probe (in the same location even). :rolleyes:

How about any other infrared temp guns? Hows everyone's luck with the raytek series?

I have the PE2 from Pro Exotics and seem s to work fine, I have no complaints. The only thing I noticed is the first reading is wrong if the unit was off when you pressed the button. After that it work great.
