In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

My cage from CagesByDesign

I had 2 carpets of the same size housed together, but I have to agree with the concept of Big Snake + Little Snake = Trouble, for any species.

I always love to see pictures of snakes, what do you think of my new addition? Of course he/she won't look that way as an adult but the sire is Grasshopper and the dam came from the collection of some of the few lemon bloodlines Greg Maxwell has. She is mite phased but mostly green with yellow on her head and partial neck and black mites all over her body with some blue mites too. Go to www.arborealadventures.com

Available GTP's and down at the bottom is the chocolate red one that I will have by next week. check is still in the mail so they haven't posted the GTP as SOLD yet, but the parents pics are above the baby pic. I think he/she will be unique coloration. Good luck in your ball python breeding. I have a couple of friends with just regular ball pythons but someday they might want another and i will tell them about you. Go ahead and show me whatever pics you have, if you don't want to post them on the forum, just e-mail them here:

Thanks,
Cassandra

That is such a cute pic. Well, i can't do anything right now with the two carpets but next eyar they will be separate, because i am officially broke, well sort of. Yes, GTP are not nice, they remind me of Swans, LOL. Beautiful, but vicious. I actually took a bite a couple fo weeks ago from my adult coastal carpet python and it kind fo freaked me out when she did it because is so nice, very calm snake. this bled for 10 minutes straight but it honestly really didn't hurt. She does big teeth too, i have seen them. Mortecai has bitten me, my two girlfriends but has not touched my b/f or any other male that holds him. he actually almost bit my dog (Doberman Pinscher), I think of him as a Biak GTP. I hope this one will be nice but the breeders don't handle them for they are busy with all their snakes and have kids so i will have to see for myself on how nice this one is. I know my heart is going to be ebating fast the first few times I put my ahnds in it's cage and stuff. But I have good cage being sent in the mail soon and has removable perches so that should help. How long do you think I should leave it in it's cage, unhandled, when it first arrives? A week, few weeks???? I will psot pcis of parents here is the famous sire, Grasshopper. Isn't he beautiful?

mites...LOL

HAHA.......Um, you might not want to use the word "mites" when describing a snake.....LOL!!

I just went through my stored pics and can't find any of my snakes. Hmmm, I must have deleted them. Oh well, I need to take some new updated pics anyway.

Ok i am little dumb in some spelling but what is the correct way because I know they use that word in describing the color. this is the DAM of the baby I am getting.

handling

I'm not that familiar with the handling and care of GTPs. But with the stress of being shipped, I wouldn't attempt anything for at least 2-3 days. With the baby balls I recieved, I set them up in their cages and left them alone for a day and a half. I offered them f/t hoppers the 2nd day and 3 out of 6 took them. It took 5 more days till 2 of the remaining 3 ate. I still have one refusing food, but it's now in a shed phase, so I'll wait till it's shed before trying again. I know that when I opened the shipping box and took them out, 3 of them were nippy and striking at me. They have all calmed down since then. So....you might want to move your beautiful baby Chondro out of it's shipping box to it's new cage with a very long stick....LOL!

No, I wasn't aware that there was a "mite phase" of snakes. I can see how they came up with the name from the pic of the female GTP. Thanks Jennifer.

You learn something new every day....LOL!

LOL, the crazy part is that the breeders never handle the snakes they sell just clean the cage, so i have no idea what to expect out of it. I am just looking for the worst. I will have a handling hook by the time i get it and that is all I probably will use just to see how it reacts to a tool rather than my hand. The funny thing is, this is a x-mas present to my b/f and i have to hide it at my friends house just down the road, they are absolutely afraid of snakes, and I will have to take it out and put it in it's cage in their apartment. I figure it would be safe to have someone watch it that would never handle the snake. the only other perso i know that would keep the cage and snake would want to handle it everyday if she could, so i feel more comfortable keeping it one mile from my house and they won't touch it. Of course I will be coming over everyday to feed or check up on it. I will ask the breeders when they last feed it and wait 2 weeks after they feed to feed he/she. I like to feed my snakes every two weeks so i figured I would get it in the same time frame as my other snakes. Well, what day job allows you to be next to the computer all the time?

Mites

Well, I wander if it is spelled mites than. I mean it is weird they would name it after a bug that actually gives snakes problems.

Cassandra

I don't work days, I work nights as a semi driver for UPS (yep, I know all about shipping reptiles through UPS...lol). But, I'm on vacation this week and just killing time reading these posts. Good luck with keeping your new GTP at the friend's house. It should be all right. Hmmm, must be time to clean a few cages....lol.

cleaning

Hmmm, I'm not sure, but it would seem that Dawn and water would be pretty mild. I'd try it, but with Plexiglass...the more you clean it, the more it gets scratched up. A few years down the road, it will eventually have enough fine scratches in it to "cloud" the view. I'd try an old clean cotton T-shirt to wipe it down with. Don't use paper towels, if at all possible. I wear glasses with the latest plastic lenses in them (scratch coated too), and sooner or later, they ALL get scratched up.

Tempered glass is the best thing for viewing, but it's heavy and awkward to fit and/or drill through for cages (if it's used for more than just the front side). But, there are compromises in all situations......you have plexiglass and get the full 360 degree view!!

cleaning

:) Nah...It's not really the solution that hurts the plexiglass (unless you're using harsh chemicals), it's the physical rubbing. There will always be extremely smalls bits of grit in what ever cleaning cloth/towel you use to wipe with.....that's what puts the very fine scratches in Plexiglass.

Oh, here's another idea....instead of wiping the Plexiglass down with a cloth/towel, get a good squeegee (like window washers use) and squeegee the solution off the Plexiglass. You could spray the soap solution on and squeegee it off.....no rubbing involved. That might work better.
