    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have had my Brazilian Rainbow Boa - Amana - for two weeks now and she is settling in quite well. Just decided to find a flaw in my designs and escaped once and tried to give me a heart attack. Found her of course with my boyfriend's help of "you have a snake loose".

Shes a sweet, strange girl. Seem to lack any sort of self-presevation concept while holding her. She might grip, she might not, or she might just flop down to whatever there is to land on. Not fleeing or seemily tired, just lazily flops herself about. :rolleyes:

Couple shots of her, they are terrible (and on a horrible color), just wanted a couple of quick shots because I wanted to spend more handling rather than focusing on pictures.

Aww, she's a beaut, Shannon! You captured her evening whitewalls well. I used to have a snake that had the exact same attitude towards holding on -- sometimes he did, sometimes he ended up on the floor looking up at me in surprise, as if to say "how the heck did that happen?!" Thanks for posting, and please continue -- I'd love to see more Brazilian photos on this forum!
 
Thank you Cliff! I am just thrilled with her, and am enjoying her quirks. For all the interesting reading I've had about them tending to be a bit more nippy especially young, she has been a gem - for me at least. (so far she has nipped anyone with testosterone, bit young for guy issues) Really though she is as laid back as my corn in some ways more.

Brandon, you have a lovely BRB! You mentioned one of yours, how many do you have and any breed plans for them?
 
Shannon, I have a pair of juveniles I picked up from rainbowboas.com at the Austin Expo. I will be breeding them in a few years. He also had some very nice hypo Brazilians that I wish I would have had the funds for. Can't wait 'till they're adults! :)

They all have their quirks. I have one almost-yearling that decided he disliked a certain friend of mine so much, he was willing to fall off the table to get at him! ;-) (My friend, ever the good guy, caught him mid-air.) Again, she looks great!

Hummel? Bryan has some good stuff. Two of my breeders-to-be for next year, "Scarface" (male) and "Malachite" (female), came from him.

I don't have my Brazilian Rainbow Boa anymore, he is no longer with us :( A very maddening story that is. But I loved him! They are amazing snakes, and mine was as nice as could be! never nipped, even as a baby. I would take him out in the sun and just look at how amazing he was. I need to get one again.
 
Brandon, good luck with them in the future. My girl didn't come from Bryan, but I did get to talk with him the other week and he was a great guy to talk to and the snakes I've seen are nice. Of course I did learn he also breeds JCP's which are another weakness of mine.

Nick, that was a pretty little BRB ball you had, I am sorry to hear you no longer have him/her!

Jordan, I am sorry for you loss (so many people without their BRB's anyone for one reason or another!). I agree you should get another one, but I may be a bit biased at this point.

It is nice to see all these Brazilians, I agree with you Cliff, I hope we see more.
 
Thanks! I just grew out of them and honestly, realized they needed more care and requirements that I had time for. My female got a couple eye caps and I wasn't around enough to keep their humidity up, so I let them go cheap to a couple wonderful locals. Of course now, with more time to devote now and better setups, I regret it a little, but maybe another day!!
 
My BRB has done that a few times. He holds well when handled, but every so often, he just does a full release, and drops. Maybe just wants a new perspective? lol
No, they are great snakes, and some gorgeous pictures all! Congrats on your new one! MY guy is like 3 or 4 now, and only struck once, at his own reflection I think. Handle often while young, and she should be good to go.
 
Loving all these Brazilian threads, everyone! Great stuff! While the humidity management can take a bit of time, it is well worth the trouble to have a snake this gorgeous on hand.
