In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is the rack my Father helped me build ( actually he did a lot of the work/cutting/measuring and the like.. i cant thank him enough! )

It holds Nine 41qt sterilites. we tried to get 10, but just didnt have enough materials for that last shelf to fit. we have enough extra stuff to make a baby rack though :p

I love the thing! Is about three feet wide, almost two feet deep, and six feet tall. ( not exact mind you)

So.... i guess... enjoy! :p This is my first time building a rack and i have to say, im Darned pleased with the outcome!

Very nice looking rack! What type of wood did you use? And I love the cat sitting there in the corner looking at the rack, lol.

That is pretty much the way we made the racks here, with some variations.
Very nice, great job
I know it is heavy :ack2: if you want you can put some locking wheels under so if you want or have to move it you have that options ;)

Do you have any photos of yours?

:shrug01: ack, let me shuffle around the bazillion photos I have accumulated, lol and see if I can find one.
Mine are not as tall as yours and are in various sizes to hold differnt sizes (yes, I have a few of them, lol) but they hold up very well for me. I do have flex watt in the back and thermostat for it.
Give me a bit, let me look around for some pics.

Again congrats! Great job!

Here is one pic, it is kind of hard as there is a room devoted to them (among others around the house) and I am in the processes of making another room, painting ect.
I just got my zoning of the house and acct, IRS ect set up, so this summer hoping to add on in front of my home a small shop. Have been starting to work with people to sell supplies as well. I have over 50 reptiles so I have do get this going, just not in the snow, lol. Somewhere around this site is pics of my bigger cages, it has been fun working with this stuff :)

Now you get the fun of filling those tubs up!

I think those are great! Wish i had more rooms!!!

thanks, I am trying to find some of the BIGGER ones when the cages first started being built, man was that trial and error! :ack2: they may not look the greatest but they work well.

You and your Dad did an awesome job and got it right the first time too :D

Very nice looking rack!!

That's a very nice, professional looking rack you got there...but, I don't see any type of heating element in the pics. How do you plan to heat the rack? Heat tape or cable? Belly heat or back heat? Or just put it in a heated room? I ask because I don't see any provision for heat tape or cable in the shelving. Just wondering....

That will be stuff im getting soon. Noones being housed until i have stable temps and a good thermostat anyway. Everything is just set up, and i can remove the back to attach everything i need to. Dont worry!

Did you use Plans?

Hi,
Did you use rack plans to make these? I'm needing to make some for my
Leopard geckos and don't have a clue where to begin.
Those are awesome by the way!!! :yesnod:

nope. we just kinda went with the flow as far as plans go. We looked at pictures of other racks if that helps any. I suppose ill make instructions on this at some point in time. Ill let you know when i do though.

Ill give you a few websites on other rack designs though! ^_-

http://riobravoreptiles.com/howto_easyrack.htm - This is one we looked at alot actually. We didnt use the hollow doors though.

http://www.kingsnake.com/sandboa/housing.html - Theres an image with a melamine rack that is another cool idea.

Clay Davenports Website has another cool idea for a rack system
http://www.arbreptiles.com/cages/iris_rack/iris_rack.shtml

All of these are simple, and fairly inexepensive to build on your own. You just need access to the tools and some carpentry skills and of course a bit of time. that or have whoever you're buying wood from cut everything to size and you just put it together!

research them a bit, youll start getting good ideas of your own :p
