In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone! Randall here, and this is my very first snake, _____ (Have not thought of a name yet, maybe DJ). I've had experience with other reptiles in the past and now that they are all gone (Given away or sold), i missed them and decided to get a Hognose. To be quiet honest, I was terrified of snakes about a couple of weeks ago but then I stumbled across these guys and they grew on me. I've already got quite a little bit of a hissy show form this little guy that makes me jump a little but I'll get used to it haha. Anyways here is some pictures of the little guy and his enclosure(Which has my textbooks on top just to make sure my new friend doesn't surprise me in the morning).

I've got two hides in the enclosure, one on hot and cold, a small water dish which used to be my croc skink's worm dish, and a piece of wood i got from a local pet store all on aspen snake bedding. Hot side is about 90 degrees with the ambient being around 80~81. Cold side is about 76-~79. This is my first snake so any advice on how I am doing things so far would be greatly appreciated.

Well that ties up my little introduction, I hope to make some friends here and be active in this forum :)

[Also, the last picture is a picture from the breeder I acquired him from!]

Also, if someone can point me in the direction of a accurate Infrared thermometer so I can do spot checks in the enclosure without putting an extra thermometer in there that would be helpful! This is mostly so i can keep an eye on everything and double check with my thermostat that the temps are consistent and correct. Thank you!
