    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have paper towel for my enclosure bottom. I have not decided yet what I will use in the long run. Spike is only 6 1/2 inches long, so still only a juvenile. I can see his nails are starting to get long. They are not overgrown yet but I need to do something soon. What should I use to help them ware down on their own? And where do I get it?

Adding a ruff edged rock usually does a good job filing the nails down. Also, you can take just an ordinary pair of finger nail clippers and trim them. Just make sure to go down about 1/32 of an inch. You should be able to see the vein in the nail if you look at it from the side. Cut just above that vein and you won't have any problems. If for some reason you accidentally cut too deep and there is blood just dip the nail in baking soda and it will stop the bleeding.

He's too little for me to see his vein. What type of rock should I use.

Any rock with hard angled edges will do. Just don't use a rounded one. You want him to be able to have his claws slide against and drag across the rock as he walks and climbs.

Rounded ones work well too but it takes a lot of time to file the nails down on them.

If you wanna try nail clippers just clip the very tips of the nails off. It will take off just the point and won't harm your dragon.

**Caution**

Make sure that your dragon can't get under the rock. Since your using paper towels that won't be an issue but if you switch to sand be sure to bury the rock. The dragons can dig under the rock and it can crush and smother them.
