    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Two weeks ago I got a Peruvian Red Tail from a local pet store. He is still very young, (about 24 inches long but don't know exact age). The pet store owner told me to fed him 2 hoppers once a week. Last week he ate them both fine but this week he just doesn't seem interested in eating. Should I be worried? I have had someone tell me they only need to eat after they poop then shed, but that seems like a long time in between feedings to me. Thanks for any advice!

I'd give him a rat pup every 10 to 14 days. I don't see the point in mice for boas at all, if I get any in on mice I switch them over as soon as possible.

It's not long for a snake, their metabolisms are totally different than a mammals and overfeeding them actually kills them.

With B. c. constrictors, you definitely want to err on the side of less food. They have difficulty handling too much food, and are prone to regurge syndrome (although it's more common in Suris and Guyanas than Peruvians). Make sure the prey is no bigger than the widest point of his body (I'm guessing pink rats or pups), and feed no more than every 10 days.
