In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok I posted this somewhere else but I dont think I will get any replies any time soon soooo

Im thinking about raising a male hatchling and I know that males are phenominal with putting stress on females but since my female is 11 months old and the male is just a babie would it be safe to keep them both in the same cage?
or should I raise a second female then consider raising a male?

You should never put adults with babies. Not only will there be stress and bullying issues going on but there is the potential that the baby will become food for the adult.

Also, QUARANTINE. Never put a new animal in with existing animals until they have been quarantined for at least 30 days. Preferably 90 days.

yes yes I understand this but Im not talking about puting them together right away I would wait a couple months till the male was about the females size im just wondering if the male will still attempt to mate with the female even at a young age. My female is small for her age but fat so I dont think with a little bit of time that the size difference will be too much of an issue?

After quarantining make sure the female is of suitable size for breeding because....I had a male sire eggs at 4 months of age....I bought him as a few week old hathcling and he grew fast so as an experiment I put him in with a few year old female(I had her on her own for months and raised her as a baby so it wasnt stored sperm) when he was about 4 months old. I had viable eggs laid about two weeks later that did hatch. You might not think he can do his "job" yet but to be safe make sure any female you put a male in with is healthy enough, and large enough to carry the eggs safely.

And yes a small Leo may get eaten by a larger one. It DOES happen so always make sure they are close in size.

And QUARANTINE. Probably the most important word of all....

Quarantine has been brought up already on this thread but I cannot stress how very important that it is
A Q peroid of at least 3 months is a real good practice
Also Leos do not really like to be housed together and do not do as well together as when they are kept alone especially as babies
Dominance is a big thing with them and many people mistake them sleeping together in the same hide for cuddling which I don't believe that they do at all
I think it's more competition for the best hide
I have been keeping Leos for around 10 years and I have tried many combinations and from my own personal experience both babies and adults do better when kept and raised alone
Babies kept alone in tubs/tanks seem to grow faster and gain more weight and you know what their poop looks like and how often that they are pooping
Females can have major dominance issues with each other as well
The only time that I think that they need to be put together is for breeding
Of course there are exceptions to this but if kept in groups i think that you need to be very watchful as to what is going on with them
just my 2 cents
