In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I didn't realize we had a dog forum! Well~ guess what? I have a new dog! I didn't mean to get a new dog~ but I have one~ and a puppy to boot~ WOW are puppies a lot of work!

We lost our old man Atlas (boxer) last January. Broke my heart~ we only had him for three years (adopted as an adult~ and I guess he was much older than we thought at the time). Before that was my sweet Kira (rottweiler we had for 8 years). I kind of wanted another dog~ but I do get very attached and didn't want to go through the heartbreak of losing another. So I just kept telling my friends that I was going to the Kennel for another dog "next weekend." I really am a dog lover~ and wanted a dog in my life~ but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

My friend works for animal control in a neighboring county. She called me on Fathers Day. She had picked up a puppy~ a baby really~ probably about 4 weeks old. Not old enough to go to the shelter~ she was going to be euthanised.....................

Now she knew I was too much of a sap for that..............Meet Xochytl! (pronounced Zoshi~ it's Aztec and means Flower)

She was just barely three pounds on Fathers day. Today she is three times that~ and getting into trouble all the time! I'm looking forward to her growing into a good companion dog for me. But it's been so long since we had a puppy in the house (Kira~ in 94) I had forgotten how much work they are!

Awwwwwww Cheryl.....she is BEYOND adorable!!!!!

The last couple of doggies I have adopted have been already housebroken adult dogs as well, and at this point, I can't imagine going through "puppyhood again"!!! You've got your work cut out for you, but it is SO worth it in the end!!! Congrats on your new baby!!

Cheryl, what a cutie pie and how wonderful that you saved her!!
Have you come up with any ideas yet as to what kind of dog she may be or how big she is going to get? Congratulations!!

Good old American Mongrel!!

At first I couldn't even hazard a guess on breed~ but now that her colors are coming in and her personality is starting to develop........

She looks a little German Shepard to me. He feet are getting big and her legs are getting long~ I'm thinking she will be smaller than a German Shepard~ but bigger than a cocker spaniel. Medium sized dog (that will be new~ Kira was 120 pounds~ Atlas was 85 pounds~ I generally like a BIG dog!)

She has a really thick undercoat and her tail curls~ so some type of Winter breed~ husky~ spits~ chow???

Her personality is starting to give some clue's too. She wants to herd the cats (who hate her more than anything they have ever seen! LOL!) So I'm thinking some type of herding breed in there too.

Mostly~ Mongrel!
