In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, I have been doing some research on Crested Geckos, and I just had a few questions :)
1. I am planning to use the powdered diet by T-Rex, but can I still offer a crestie fruits and maybe some silkworms still also baby food?
2. I have a 12x12x12 Exo-Terra Cage,, Can a baby crestie live happily in there until it gets bigger or a platic Kritter Keeper?
3. If so, how big should the KK be?
4. Im planning to get a 12x12x18 Exo-Terra Tank for when the crestie is older this tank would fit only 1 crestie right?
5.Lighting And Heating:I have been to many sites some say a blue or red bulb, some people say none?So Im not sure :shrug01:
Well, I think thats all my questions
Thanks! :D

I keep my babies in the Large Exo-Terra KK's, stood on end with 1 silk plant and a reptile hammock. @ About 10 Grams I move them up to a 10 Gallon stood on end and at about 20 grams they get a 20 gallon. At 30 grams they go into a 30-40 gallon for breeding with others.

The CGD is a meal replacement powder, so the geckos can live completely on this. You can offer "treats" if you want. I like to occassionally offer wax and meal worms as well as crickets.

As far as heating/lighting cresties are nocturnal so they don't need any special lighting. Also, any temperatures over 80 can easily get them stressed out and possibly could kill them.

The cage sizes sound good, and if you're getting a hatchling I'd suggest keeping it in a simple enclosure so you can make sure it's eating and growing. You may not see your gecko in the act of eating, but poo in the cage will let you know they are eating something.

A word of caution to you though: Cresties are like crack and you probably won't stop at one. So as you fall in love with your new gecko you'll realize you're thinking of another...and another...

Good luck and post pictures!
