    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Browser error ate my longer post...

Pretty much to sum it up, I've got a few people willing to donate some herp prizes and I'll be adding online gift certificates to the NFL.com shop zone, so making the picks, discussing the game, participating and getting things right is worth the minimal time and effort involved.

I'll post the upcoming week's schedule a week at a time and keep a running tally of points from the preseason to the superbowl. Picks can be made at any time up to kickoff for an individual game, but it'll be easier for me if your picks for the week are all in a single post. Picks made after kickoff won't count (so making them sunday afternoon will remove a number of your choices as being eligible for points) but I don't need a full season's picks up front or anything.

I'll be scoring two points per correct pick, with one point in the rare case of ties going to anyone who made a pick for the game, double points come post season games and possibly double points for selected games in the regular season, announced as they crop up if they promise to be interesting. I may also announce an underdog game from time to time, with double points going to anyone who wants to risk a pick on the team who's unlikely to win (only if they're REALLY underdogish).

People can participate or not participate in any game they want starting or stopping at any time, so if there's a game you don't want to make a pick for or if you miss a week, your points will still be counted- if there's nobody running away as a clear cut NFL guru, it probably will still leave you in the running. However the more picks you make, the more you can get correct and the more points you can amass, you don't lose points for incorrect picks, so guessing is better than abstaining.

The Hall of Fame game on August Ninth kicks off the preseason, so I'll post that and the preseason week one games in a followup post and we can get this thing started. I will be making picks every week myself too... if I beat you all, I'm keeping the prizes (There will be something for the top three anyway, maybe more).

Given your listed location, it's probably less painful to pick the Pats (who are clearly going 16-0 this year) than to ever pick the other team... I'm a friendly affable guy but others in the area might get themselves worked into a Bellichick inspired rage and start lining up in a nickle defense outside your house. :D

Keep 'em coming guys, I want to see a thread like we had a couple years ago, forty pages long with dozens of people making picks.

Cool beans. I get the chance to play a game with the guys, and make my picks. Can I make separate picks for my hubby? He doesn't have an account on here, he's the one who is serious about picking the winners, I just play at it and guess. :) (based on the color of their tights more than anything else).
