    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Why is it so difficult to find a normal retic? I looked through a few pages of ads and not 1 normal. I am new to retics and before paying a few hundred on some of these morphs, i would rather start handling a normal.

Bob Clark still sells normal retics. They're on his website. But a simple co-dom such as a tiger is usually less than a hundred dollars difference. It might be worthwhile to invest just a little bit more in some low-level morphs so that you have an animal that is still relevant to your collection in ten years. And, a morph will be easier to find a new home for if you experiment with retics and decide they are not for you.

Most people that produce morphs probably have normals (and/or hets) available, they may just not advertise them. Might be worth asking some of the breeders you are thinking about buying from if they have any.
Good luck!

Yeah, i have found normals for sale on some breeders sites, but very little advertising for them. Im not very fond of the tiger morph myself, as well as alot of the morphs. The normals are just so nice and simple.

I too prefer the normals. Retics have one of the largest ranges of any snake species, and there are many beautiful natural variations. It would be very cool to see more interest on breeding locality animals, like has been done with boa constrictors.

If you look on The Retic Nation Facebook group you can find people working with retic localities.

For the OP - try going to the Hamburg expo and ask the vendors with retics if they have any normal critters. They may not have them at the show but would be close enough for you to pick one up later. Since you're new to them it would also be good to have someone close by to act as a mentor if you need it.

I cant make the hamburg show this month, but im going to the east coast reptile super expo in Oaks this saturday. I am hoping to find some local retic keepers, and maybe even a cheap normal with a het.

If you are willing to wait for normals, absolutely get in touch with a favorite breeder of yours, and when baby season comes they will probably have normals and hets. I am sure NERD may produce some normals/hets. They have normals up on their website, but are currently out of stock. If you call Kevin, you can call and see when they would be in stock again.

Also, a more controversial place to buy, LLLReptile, has fast moving stock. The only problem is, they carry CB and WC so just be cautious if you choose to go down that route.

I wish you the best of luck!
