In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey everyone... i just bought a gtp, its very young
the guy i bought from said it has been feeding very well every wednesday on live pinks, but its been 2 weeks now without a bite

ive tried thawed and live, and nothing has gotten the snakes attention

i even tap him a little with the mouse and he doesnt even seem to care

is the little guy ok? is something wrong?

the tank i think is ok, its like 85 on the hot side, 70% humidity all the time and its a little 10 gallon.... what can i do to make the snake eat, i havent had this problem with any of my other snakes before, they all eat well

Well it could just be that he needs to settle in for a while. it's no unusual for them to go off feed . When you said small how small are we talking about? Do you know the hatch date?

If you can take a picture of your setup that may help. Often times when moved to a larger more open enclosure they feel a little freaked out for a while.

Does your baby hang down from his perch at night in the classic I'm hungry position? Does it ever cruise around the cage?

Get us some more info and I bet we can be of some help. Take care..Randy

hell cruise around AND hang down... kinda does both

as for the snake hes tiny, maybe a month or so old, i dont konw the exact hatch, but hes tiny, like eating pinky's, well pinky's would be wat he would eat if he would eat...

the cage is very very temporary, he will be moved to an acrylic enclosure in about a week, so that will be a good and bad thing, as its a better environment, but is probably going to freak him out again

If he's that small you need a smaller enclosure. Most Neo's are kept in a shoe box size tub. My set up is a shoe box tub with heat at one end(tub set up against heat tape) I use carbon arrows as perches(hey I have a bunch and they're the right size) I make an X in the tub with the perches. This way they can get as warm or cool as they like and the tub is small enough so they feel secure and security is very important. I don't mess with the babies much, I keep them where they are not disturbed and just check on them once in a while..

Most babies that young are usually with the breeder still, most wont sell a baby till it has 10 or meals in it. Hope that helps..Randy

so a small tub....how do you keep the humidity??? or do you just really worry about heat

so even a small little tupperwere thing with holes poked in it over some heat tape, or even partially under a lamp or something...should be ok??

Not that small of a tub, you can pick up shoe box tubs at any Walmart Etc. I put about a quarter inch of water in the bottom or use a small water bowl and the humidity is usually pretty good. I put about 6 to 8 holes on each side about mid way up and a couple holes in each end. I never use a heat lamp some do but it's hard to get the temps right with a lamp and dangerous IMO.. You want it warm on one end and cool on the other so the baby can decide what is comfortable. I have the heat at one end remember they perch so you don't need or want to heat from the bottom, you want to heat from the side or above not both but always have it set up so the baby can get away from the heat.
