    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Should beardies have a playmate? In other words should you really have two of them together or are they happy to live their lives alone? The hubby would probably kill me if he knew I was even asking this question! Stella was one who came home and we all said come on Dad can we keep her?
Thanks~ Lorretta

I know males should be housed by themselves. Two males will fight and a female with a male will get stressed out by the male wanting to mate all the time. I was told sometimes 2 females can be housed together as long as they get along. You have to watch to see if one is more dominant and doesn't try to hurt the other and make sure the other one gets enough food. I do have 2 females together right now that I was told from the breeder that they could be OK together. They are sisters and the breeder thought the little one would do better with her sister. So far so good. I have a large enclosure big enough for both of them and I make sure they have enough food. I guess it depends on the dragon itself. I don't know too much as I ask a lot of questions and am going by what I read and was told by breeders and other people. Just be prepared to have something available to put the other one in if you decide to try. Maybe someone out there who has more knowledge can give you more help. I hope I have helped some. :spinny:

"Should beardies have a playmate?"

No, because beardies do not play. They see others as intruders and competition outside of mating. All they need is you :)
Even if you raise two female dragons separately to their adult size, in their own big tanks, then introduce them both to a new, huge tank. You haven't really increased their quality of life and just brings a new host of problems. And unless you are very experienced with beardies, it can be too late before you realize something is wrong.

Thanks

I was wondering because it seemed so many of you had more than one dragon together. I am perectly happy keeping her alone! :)

In only one situation have I housed adults together. It was a trio of females and they were raised from babies together in the same enclosure. Luckily everything worked out and they lived together peacefully. That's not always the case though. It takes special dragons to live with others.

As much as we want them to be friends this does seem to be true. I have housed 3 females together and although there are moments that seem cute it is purely incidentle. They never "play" together unless you consider biting each other as playing. In my opionion it is ok to house them together if they are real close to the same size and only up to about 3 months then its time to split them up.

Thank you

Thanks for your help as stated I was just wondering. At this time we are perfectly happy with just one. The hubby says no more animals at the zoo. Thanks again!
