In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello, i was just wondering what, if any, laws there were about owning alligators in PA, is it illegal to own an alligator in PA or is there a permit required?, what would happen if someone was caught with one if it is illegal to own it?
reason why i am asking is because i know of someone that loves pets and they get alot of them but they dont really take good care of their animals, she tells me how their savan. monitor died of broken tail prob. because the tank is to small, actually alot of their animals are in to small of cages, and how animals get out of their cages and they can never find it again, and how their dogs need to get stitches because they fight, and how they have a horned toad and they dont feed it the correct food (type of ant) so its probably gunna die because its not gunna get the acidity it needs from crickets.. blahblah, and he has owned one alligator and killed it with in idk 3 months, so he bought another one 2.5foot one again. and i am just looking for a legal way to get someone in there to put them in better homes or at least make them take care of them better, and does anyone know who i could call? cant call the spca cause he voluntares there i think, worst part is he wants to be a vet when he doesnt even know the basics of caring for his own pets, ehh, let me know, u guys are my last hope! no organization or police have gotten back to me yet and its been weeks of trying to figure this one out, any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

No laws for us to own them. Some localitys have the laws but pa does not. Spca or something similar. This issue should be made about the other animals not the gator. Ull get more help with less probs against our hobby

alright, thankyou, i was just hoping it was illegal because i can see them taking care of the problem soon rather than waiting probably months for the paper work and investigation to happen (if it does happen) for the cruelty done to the other creatures if, trust me, its nothing against gators, i love all reptiles and have plenty myself, i just rather have them in a stable home instead of a broken one where they arnt housed properly, not getting enough food or the correct lighting, i mean they can barely take care of themselves let alone all the animals they own, jumping from apartment to apartment cause they cant afford rent or food for them, its no wonder all their animals that should live 20-25 years die w/in a short time of them owning it, its nothing against the animals or the hobby, just they probably could have a better owner, thats all. i guess its the long way then, hopefully they dont all die before something happens :-/

Not quite sure why you think you can't call the SPCA just because he works there but I would figure that would be your best bet.....

Nathan,
I live very close to you and had a similar problem with someone about a year ago.
Call the SPCA, and file an animal cruelty complaint, they will get a warant to search the premesis and evaluate the animals health if the individual won't allow them to. For me luckily the individual surrendered the animals to me, so I didn't have to go that far.
Give them a week to either surrender the animals on their own (frazer zoo will take them, I know the owner and can help) or change their environments and husbandry practice. After the week if nothing changes, call. Don't tell them you did, just get their full name and addresss, and call.

hello, you are really close :) , dont really like the frazer zoo, just cause they have amazing things however they dont allow you in the reptile room if hes not there >.< and half the stuff isnt for sale, however, i have learned that it is in fact illegal in coatesville to own an alligator and they actually went for a permit and got denied and they got it anyways, also what is good is that the wife plus neighbors were actually threatening to call also so they probably wont know its me who is going to make the call but i may not have to cause others dont like the way they treat their animals + an alligator that they keep in the garage apparently. i think its pretty much over, all i have to do is figure out if they live in 129 or 131 and then im going to make the call,
thanks for your help everyone!
