Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok, the title pretty much explains it...

I just bought some of this stuff for my dragons, I haven't had any fecal work done, and none of my dragons are acting unhealthy but I figure it would be good to go ahead and give most of my dragons their first round. :D:shrug01:

Is there anything I should be weary of, IE, Some type of food I shouldn't feed, what to expect, side effects on the dragon, etc?

Dont treat them unless you do your own fecal or have one done.


At that point, if you diagnose a dragon and find harmful protozoa then treat... otherwise it's potentially harmful and not needed.
 
In other words... You will kill off the dragons natural gut flora and stress their systems with a toxic slurry for no reason. Only treat if they have protozoa in their fecal.
 
Why would you want to treat perfectly healthy dragons? I have heard vets say... deworm them. It is a toxic slurry... it kills all the natural gut flora in the dragon and basically poisons them internally.

Only treat the dragon if your seeing very messy stool, loss of appetite, and lethargy. You should then do a fecal float and determine what protozoa they are harboring internally to use the proper treatment.

Coccidia is hard to defeat and in most cases lethal.

I have actually treated coccidia fairly successfully using both albon and panacur and alternating. Panacur a sulfa drug... can be taken in conjunction with other meds... do some research on it like I did.

Otherwise just to randomly treat the dragon... your wasting time money and money and putting the dragon at risk for no reason. Get a cheep microscope and do your own floats. It's super easy. I bought one for 100 dollars with a ton of slides. The saline solution is easy to make using epson salt.


Dont randomly treat them using the mass treatment approach. Who recommended you do that? A vet? Find a good herp vet not a generic vet that does not specialize in reptiles.

Treat specific dragons accordingly to their specific needs. :thumbsup:
