In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've done business on several occasions with Pat now, and have been very pleased with his animals and service.  He's a relative newcomer to the reptile business, but is certainly going about it the correct way.  If Pat ([email protected]) is any indication of who will be representing the reptile trade down the road, then our hobby will continue to prosper!

Thanks, Stephen Emerick

I agree with you. Pat and I did a trade about a month ago and I was very pleased. His animals are well taken care of. He's young, but he handles his business transactions like a veteran.Good job Pat!

I guess everyone cant have a good experience with Pat .I have a pair of real nice greybands in my freezer, that are going to be real hard to breed next year. The guaranteed live arrival only applies if you never really have to use it.the only thing that I here from the shipper of these not so alive greybands,Pat, is "its not my fault".I hope that this does not happen to anyone else.         Billy Hamby

Billy,
Did I get this right?  He garantees live arrival, but they came dead?  And he won't do anything?  Can you post details?
Lucas Denning

Well it went like this,Me and pat did a trade,I sent him a pair of anery kenyans an albino and a het albino kenyan for a trio of greybands.I shipped first and mine got there in good shape.well his came the next day and the carrier left them sitting on my deck outside.my wife went outside at10 am that morning and they were there ,the carrier never even knocked on the door, she checked and they had been delivered at 9:33and by that time two were already dead and I wasnt sure the other was going to make it. I contacted Pat and right away it was"its not my fault" and he is not going to replace them.Well it was the carrier of his choice and he didnt require a signature to receive the package. But I could see his point technically he wasnt physically responsible for their deaths ,so I offered to send the bodies back if he would just replace one of them .My thinking there was that we would split the loss, but he could not do that.He wanted me to send the bodies back at my expense and wasnt going to replace anything andhe just kept asking me to send them back .Idont know if they were even alive before his carrier dropped them off and maybe he was going to send these same bodies to his next buyer.Well I still have the bodies in my freezer and the only way their going back is with a live replacement.I will let you know if he finds it in himself to do the right thing .               Billy Hamby

Seems like it's pretty much his fault to me.  You did a trade in which you were supposed to get 3 live greybands in return.  You got 1, and 2 dead ones.  That was not the deal.  If he garantees live, and didn't have any terms regarding this specifc situation that get him out of the deal, then he is still responsible.  Whenever you garantee live arrival, unless you have something in the contract that takes responsibility off of you for carrier errror, then no matter what you fix the problem if they don't get there alive.  He seems to have at least some integrity from the other posts.  If he doesn't make this right, he's a bad guy in my book.  O, and replacing one does not make him a good guy.  He need to replace both.  BTW, how did half an hour outside at 10am kill them?  Do you live somewhere where it gets very hot at 10am?

I was reluctant to post here but feel I must.  Im not even positive if this is the same guy but the email seems the same and he is a young guy.  If this is the same Pat that lives in St. Petersburg Fl, then we are speaking of one and the same.  I did a trade some time go with Pat for a Satanic Leaftail for one of my juvenile CB Ball Pythons.  I actually live about 2 1/2 hours away but decided to make the drive instead of shipping which I hate to do when Uroplatus are considered, as they arn't the most hardy gecko.  I drove over and met them at a Mall and the trade went well at first.  The Satanic was a beautiful animal when I inspected it and they were equally as pleased with the Ball.  They were worried about if it ate or not, but I assured them it did but I drove myself and them (Pat and friend) to a local Pet shop to get a mouse for it to see if it would feed for us, as they were on bicycles.  Now this snake had been in the car for me for about 3-4 hours now and wouldnt initially fed on the rat pup.  I knew it was stress from the trip and didnt think anything of it of course as it always fed for me with no problems.  I drove home and started to email back and forth with Pat.  He said it ate fine at his friends house taking one rat pup with no hesiatation.  Then he road with it right after feeding it to his house (on his bike with the ball in a bag) and even fed it during the trip on his bike another rat pup which it ate.  Now this snake had eaten twice in the same day while riding around in a snake bag on a bike.  Now if a snake eats twice under those conditions I would think its safe to say its a strong healthy snake.  He also informed me that it did defacate for him and it was normal and formed.  He wrote me back the next day to say that the ball had died.  I said that was terrible of course, and offered to compensate him but required a pic of the dead snake or the body shipped back to me at my cost.  Pat said he would send pics right away.  Nevertheless the pics never came and neither did the dead snake and Pat never e mailed me again.  I really felt as if he was trying to get something for nothing and I GUARENTEE that Ball is still as healthy today as it was when I gave it to him.  I didnt want to post this after seeing a few good posts about him as I hoped maybe he turned around and was off to a right start but then read Billys post I figured I needed to let others know of my experience with Pat.  I will say that the Satanic Leaftail I got from Pat was in excellent condiditon and health and seemed to be well taken care of by him as well.  I just posted the facts so you make your own conclusions.                 Michael Beberman

Hi..Billy,Yes it is not my fault..but as i said it is not your fault either..I told you the other night that i will replace the pair with a pair of babies when they come..I asked you to send the bodies back because of course i need proof that they are dead..If you dont want to send the bodies back then can u get some good pics for me?If you can get some pics to me then that will begin to rectify the situation..Before i offered you the pair of babies i offered you a pair of alterna at a low price..I am very sorry that this happened..but you must understand that i need to see the bodies before anything can be done..when i told you that i will replace them with babies when they come you just kept sayin that you will just sell the bodies..If you can prove to me that they are dead then i will recitfy this deal..It will be a loss for me But like i said its not your fault either..and yes they did leave here alive..Thanks for your time

Hi mike,First of all..The trade you did was not with me..Yes i was there and it was through my screen name..but if you remember it was my friend that had the leaftail..he is a good friend of mine that used to use my screen name alot..I had a few ball pythons at the time and i replaced it for him..Yes it did die..the reason he never e-mailed you back is like i said i replaced it and i guess he didnt want to bother telling you for some reason..But what you said about feeding it in a bag while riding on a bike..where did you get that from?..first of all you didnt even give it to us in a bag..it was in a deli cup..also we fed it at my house(his friends house)..and the defication was not normal and formed..the reason he even told you about the defication is because it was runny and bright yellow..I had just got into the hobby then so i did not think to get a autopsy done..Now i am very good freinds with a vet so that is not a problem now..I just wanted to let you know that it was not me that you did the trade with...thanks for your time

Pat,  First off let me publicly apologize for any relation to you if the trade was truly with your friend and not yourself.  Although you were present at the trade and you were the one negotiating for your friend,  I couldnt tell you his name but your's sure rang a bell and all the emails and instant messages came from your screen name, the one I delt with.  Why would you replace a snake that died when I already said I would if I got a pic or the body back?  Why wouldnt he send a simple pic of a dead snake if it was truly dead?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?, NOT TO MENTION YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE SENDING IT!  THAT IT WAS ON ITS WAY!  As for where I got the feeding it while riding on a bike, yes it was in a deli cup and yes you put it in your back pack and rode around with it on your bikes to a friends house and fed it once then you said you left a second rat pup in the container with it and it ws gone when you reached your house.  You also stated to me that it defacted fine and you had no idea why it died.  If it did truly die I would say it was cause it was fed twice after a long drive, you rode it around to a friends house on your bikes in a deli cup in your bag, fed it again on the road in a deli cup in a back pack while riding on a bike.  Although I think we both know the snake is still alive and well.   Michael

Hi mike..The reason i replaced the snake is because i had 3 ball pythons and i was gonna give them away anyway..i gave 1 to him and gave the other 2 to a pet store..and again you are mistaken..we did not even have a back pack..My friend carried the deli cup with the leaftail there..and carried the ball python home..yes on our bikes..and remember it was him you were talkin to..so when he said he fed it at a friends house that was my house..then what he did after that regarding feeding i do not know..and you might think that the ball is alive but i know it is not..why he didnt follow through with sending you the pics i do not know..i would have done that but again it was not my deal..This deal with billy is MY first deal that has went wrong...I do not see how it is either of our faults but i tried to make good on it as best as i can right now..if i can see the bodies i might be able to do better..thanks for your time

mike-...also the reason i was talking to you at the mall is because my friend was very very new to this and he asked me to talk to you..but as you saw he was the one with the leaftail and he was the one who took the ball off of you and checked him out..I am sorry that you think its my deal..but clearly it isnt..thanks pat

Hi all,
I have done some trades/sales/purchases with Pat and we never had any problems. He's a good guy!
When a deal goes sour like this sometimes both parties have to cooperate with eachother to resolve it. If it were me, I would ask for the bodies back just to make sure someone isn't trying to pull a fast one on me and then work out a fair compensation for any losses.
I hope you to can work this out, but Pat is a good guy and not out to rip anyone off here.
My 2 cents..
John Staursky

Pat,   Im not out to get you or anything like that my friend.   When I met you guys you seemed to be nice people and had a real genuine care and love for reptiles, which is something I always admire.  There are two things I made a promise to myself when getting into this business, one of them being to never lie, the second, never to tolerate those who do.  Im not saying in any way you yourself is being dishonest, I just think thats sound advice for anyone. It just doens't make sense that I trade 'your friend' a healthy, feeding ball that dies all of the sudden, I offer to replace the animal with no hesitation providing he send a pic of the snake or ship the body back to me at my cost, he says he's sent it, then no pic, no dead snake, no email, no proof, no contact, no phone call, no nothing.  You must agree it doesnt make much sense and I would really in all honesty be left to think the snake is still healthy and still alive.  Pat, I confidence that you will make good towards Billy if it deems be. You say it's your first such problem you've occured while dealing,  these type problems occur when dealing with live animals and its not the problem that matters, but how professionally you can rectify it.  I hope the best for you in your endevors and hold no ill will towards you or your friend whatsoever.  Good Luck and Take Care...........Michael Beberman

Mike...yes i agree with you..Even though i replaced it for him he still should of pursued you for giving him another animal..I didnt replace your animal for you..just fealt bad and since i was gonna give them away anyway i just went ahead and gave him one..And from your post it seems like you dont believe that it was "my friend"..I promise you that it was his deal..I was just helping him with it because he was new to this..I hope you can see that..Thanks again...

I have had many trades in the past year with Pat and i always received great healthy snakes from him. He is a good guy in my book!!! If you talk this out im shure you and Pat will work it out.
Craig McMurtrie

Pat ,what you actually told me was that you would replace them "if" the gravid female layed eggs before you sold her and " if" you could hatch them out that is alot of "if"s in my book and the trade was not for hatchlings.I am not in the market for hatchlings. And as far as buying more from you at even a reduced rate wasnt an option. If you couldnt get them here alive the first time Im not throwing my money away to give you another chance.IF you want them back then you pay the shipping and I will send them back. But I think you need to consider at least replacing one.Thats all Im asking for and I dont think that it is unreasonable. If you replace just one Ill pay to ship the dead ones back to you.Is that fair or what.             Blly Hamby

Billy-If buying replacement animals cheap wasnt a option then why did you take a 3 days to decide??..I asked you to ship them back the first time and you said no i will just sell them..And it is not my fault that the shipper left them on your porch...you should ahve been watching for the shipper to arrive if you knew that you have had this problem before..you told me that the same shipper has left boxes on your porch before..if you knew that then why did you even let me ship through them??why werent you watching for them since they have done this before??..You send me the bodies back and i will rectify this situation the best i can..thanks..

Billy - Sorry to hear of your errant transaction.  I've spoken with Pat, and his main concern (regarding wanting the bodies) is not to get taken for animals that he's not sure are alive or dead.  I would have to say that with some of the transactions I've had, in hindsight it seems I should have made the same request of the customer.  I agree your request for one snake is very reasonable, though I think I have a better one.  Just post the photos of the snakes here on this site (link would be fine also).  Everyone has a camera nowadays (or at least knows someone who does), and the time saved e-mailing etc. would be drastic.  When you show the deceased animals, well there will be no question in my book you deserve a full refund or replacement animals (notice I stated animals).  I truly believe Pat will accomodate this, and just posting a couple of pics will certainly leave no doubt as to the outcome of this certain transaction.

Just my 2 cents,

Stephen Emerick
