    =====================

I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

I just purchased an aquarium from Paul through the Fauna Fund auction...two days later Paul drove 2.5 hours to meet me at Lee Watson's Reptile Swap...

We were planning on meeting at 10am...I was running OVER 2 HOURS LATE...which is a fairly rare occurance for me...especially where reptile shows are concerned...

Paul waited for me in the 95 degree heat for all that time (I can think of WORSE places to be stuck waiting than a reptile swap...but I digress...)
As soon as I got there we spoke...and exchanged money for aquarium...

GREAT tank...great supplies...super nice guy...as soon as we were done talking...he left...so I KNOW he waited around just for me to show up...

Never got upset...and was one of the most pleasant people I have ever met...

I will never hesitate to purchase anything from Paul in the future...
He is definitely one of the good guys.

lol
Thanks Derek. I was anticipating the time when I got my own thread!

It was nice meeting you and your kids. I hope that you all had a good time exploring at Lee's. Apparently you survived without any serious heat stroke or exhaustion! :hot:

Thanks again for participating in the auction, and I hope your son's clawed frog is happy in his new home :)

Paul just bought some leos from me and he was great all the way till the end.It is nice when people let you know they got the geckos.
Thank you paul.

I, too, won a 7 gallon bow tank from Paul in a Fauna Fund auction! It arrived today...... took 40 minutes to unpack it, Paul! That was an amazing packing job--a glass tank and it arrived in perfect condition. It's so cute! Thanks for the extras, Paul, and for all the advice. My betta, frogs, and plants aren't here yet, but when I get it set up I'll send you pics. This is going to look wonderful in my bedroom.

Thanks for offering the tank and for being so much fun to deal with.

Jan

Thanks Jodi, I look forward to doing business again with you!

Jan, thanks for your patience with the packaging job...lol! I just wanted to be REALLY sure that it would arrive safely. When I dropped it off at FedEx, the lady behind the counter said, "You're shipping a WHAT?!?" I don't think she had much faith in the package handlers. ha ha. Please do post pics when you have the tank set up! I'm sure there are others who would like to see how it looks.

Same here,

I bought a thermostat from fauna auction and he sent it really fast. It’s good to deal with people like Paul.

Thanks!

Glad I could be the one to start it...I'm sure it will be plenty long before all is said and done!!

We survived...barely...the temps dropped about 20 degrees right before the HUGE storm hit...nice horizontal rain...about an inch in 15 minutes...
It rained so hard they shut all the doors and everyone stayed inside...LOL

Thanks again...next time I will be WAITING for you...LOL

Mannnnnnnnnnnnn I got outbid on all the auctions cause they ended while I was moving :bawling:

Auction off something else Paul!!! I wanna win something :hehe:

Excellent

Paul is a great guy. I bought some beardie books from him recently, and it couldn't have been a better transaction. He is super nice, the books arrived extremely fast, and in much better condition than I expected. They were absolutely flawless and BUBBLE WRAPPED! That just made my day, I get great books and bubble wrap...I love bubble wrap!
I would recommend him to anybody in a heartbeat. Thanks again, Paul!

Paul...

I just had a wonderful experience with Paul Sage. He shipped me a huge box full of dragons that were fat and happy.

I will start off with the packing job. All I can say is WOW! Paul packed each dragon in it's own container (none of the sharing stuff here!) and the box was lined with 2" styrofoam! These babies probably had not a clue that it was 110 degrees outside they were so well insulated. Each container was labeled very clearly to indicate who was in the container. Each and every dragon that I pulled from the box was completely NOT stressed (which is something I've never seen before after being shipped).

Now, these dragons had gone from my home to Paul's home for over a month, then back to my home. The dragons were all much larger than when they left here, so much so that I didn't even recognize the majority of them.

Now, to most people, this wouldn't be a big deal. But Paul hasn't had that much experience with bearded dragons. He was able to overcome and adapt, and even more importantly, provide these dragons with more than just a temporary place to stay. It was quite obvious to me that the dragons had all been doted upon...and maybe even a little spoiled! :raspberry

I have had numerous conversations with Paul, and have always been amazed at his level-headedness (probably not even a word!) when most other people would have gone through the roof. Paul is also highly intelligent and knoweldgeable on many different subjects. He is a man most concerned with honesty and integrity, virtues that aren't so common in our community.

To sum it all up, I would not only feel confident doing business with Paul myslef, but am confident recommending him to anyone.

Thank you, Paul!

Thanks Tere. ...but you know that I couldn't have done those little buggers justice without your help (especially since I auctioned off all my bd books a few months ago!). Oh, and as far as the packaging job, I live in WI remember. 90* means abandon all plans and hide in the basement with the A/C on. If I were going to Tucson in the middle of summer, I'd want at LEAST 2" of styrofoam to protect me. Also, I wouldn't want to share a small space with any of my relatives for more than 3 minutes, so I don't think the dragons would've wanted to either. :dgrin: I guess that kinda relates to what you said in your thread about treating them the way YOU'D want to be treated. :hehe: Thanks again.

I have delt with Paul as well and it is always a pleasure.. Would recommend as well:)

I just completed a deal with Paul and I have to say that it could not have gone any smoother.

Paul's communication was outstanding, his packaging of a live animal was second to none. I highly recommend Paul to anyone. Hope to do lots of business with him again in the future.

I'll jump on the Paul Sage bandwagon. He is a great guy and has been a pleasure to deal with. We have had several transactions between us. I have sold to him and purchased from him. You can't go wrong either way. He is truly an asset to this hobby.

I will try to make this as short as possible but it may be hard to do!

I had been eyeing a male leo on Pauls site for a few days or more and was really upset that there was no way with hubby not working that I could get this leo and he would fit into a MAJOR breeding plan of mine for next summer.

I happened to talk to one of faunas finest and was just blowing off steam that I wanted this gecko and would have no cash til tax time and that I wanted to email Paul but I knew it was stupid to try to ask someone to hold a leo til Feb. That person asked the price and I said, I think he was $100.

I was really sick then, getting better now so I was offline most of the rest of the day. Signed back on late that evening to find $150 in my paypal with a note: Buy that leo from Paul and send me some babies next season, so of coarse I was excited and felt bad at the same time for having to get money from someone to buy this leo but I was not going to pass up the offer of the cash to buy him

I went to order the leo from Pauls site and he was $45, so I told the lender that I would send them back the difference once I got the total, they said no, just pick up another leo and if there is anything left do something for yourself.

So I added a female of $40 and really decided the extra would be for this baby ball python for my sons upcoming birthday since Cody saw me looking at the leos and screamed, I want that snake, is that a nice one lol

So I was at $110 with the 2 leos and the baby ball with shipping it would be a few $$ over the $150 I had to spend.

Paul said it was fine, and I got 2 wonderful leos plus the baby ball which my son loves to death and he even through in a Ball Python manual since he knew we were new with snakes.

So to get to the short part, Paul is an amazing guy to work with and has some amazing animals, they came in so very well packed and super healthy.

Thanks again Paul!

Great Guy

I have just completed a transaction with Paul, for some used Boaphile Racks. The Racks are in great condition. And I have to say Paul really has some of the BEST customer service in the hobby. He went above and beyond, and even delivered to my house. I would highly recommend Paul, and will definitely do business with him in the future. Thanks again Paul!

I purchased some of those Boaphile racks from Paul as well, and he was kind enough to drive 2 hours to meet us! Paul is very professional, the racks and tubs were clean and neatly wrapped.....not to mention he's just a super guy to talk to. Definitely on the top of my "good guy" list!!

Thanks again, Paul!

Wow! It sounds like all of us were buying boaphile racks from Paul! I have made several purchases from Paul and they were all right on the money!
