• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Howdy all:

I've been contacted by a publisher to write an intermediate to advanced hobbyist level book on the entire Pituophis-complex. It will cover everything from natural history to captive breeding and color morphs. Luckily, my wife is a DVM and PhD, so there will be an excellent section on diseases, too. Tentatively, I'm planning to have images of each subspecies and their habitat in the natural history section. In the captive breeding section, I'd like to have images of as many color morphs as possible.

The images need to be a minimum of 300dpi at "print size," but higher resolution is better. Outside images take under natural light conditions are better than inside ones, but it is not necessary to have all of the images in "natural looking" settings.

I'm also going to be in dire need of images of breeding, egg incubation, hatching, adult and juvenile cages and racks, PROBLEMS such as dystocia and dysecdysis, various cage substrates, etc. In other words, if you SEE it keeping Pituophis, I'd like an image of it!

I'm trying to get images from as many people as possible as long as they won't mind me using them for this book. Of course, credit will be given in the book to the photographer that owns the image. If you've got any such images, please send them to me at [email protected]. If you know anyone else that might be interested in letting me use some of their images, please feel free to spread this request around. They can contact me directly at that address or at my [email protected] address via the above link. Please send all images to [email protected], though. The more people and images the better! I'd like as much of the herp community to supply images as is possible.

Thanks,
KJ Lodrigue, Jr.
