    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

i just got my 1st bd and it wont eat,i researched everything b4 i bought it so i think its environment is ok.i tried putting crickets in his home and i also tried feeding him in a seperate tank.its been 24 hours.any suggestions??

Has it been 24 hours since you bought it? Usually a new dragon will not eat for the first day or three while they are adjusting to a new home. Give him/her a bath or mist to help keep hydrated. Keep offering food and I'll bet he will eat before too long.

ty 4 the reply,and btw he just ate 4 crickets!!yay!im also happy that he ate in the feeding tank.im sorry 4 being a worrywart but ive only had him 1 full day and i love him already.hes soooo sweet (or she) :) :)

Just remember to give your new dragon some space and some time to adjust. After a few days of adjustment your dragon should have settled in and you'll have a best friend for life!!!

Good luck,

Make sure the crickets you are feeding are of the appropriate size as well.

Congrats on your new baby! :)

ty mike and cathy.so far she has eaten 4 crickets yesterday, 3 this morning, and 1 about an hour ago.ive had her since sat. at 5:00pm.is this ok?i also offered her fruit and salads,she will lick most of it but not eat it.she did take drops of water off my finger tho :)i dont think shes pooped yet,should i be worried?i appreciate any suggestions/feedback.im really trying not to hover over her (she was by herself for about 9 hours today)and when i got home she ate the 1 cricket int he feeding tank,drank the water off my finger and then fell asleep in my hand so i put her on the basking rock.she spends all her time there,she never goes in the hidey cave.ty again guys!!

oh and she is shedding alot,when i got home it was just a lttle on her legs,but now i just peeked in on her and its her whole body now :)

I have a couple of dragons that seem to be pickier eaters when they are shedding, but 8 crickets in 3 days isn't very much, though at least she seems to be picking up and eating something. Are you sure the crix are small enough for her? And what are you offering her for greens? Sometimes you have to try a variety before you find what they like. I don't think you've mentioned how old she is, but babies do tend to eat a lot less greens and more bugs as compared to older dragons.

she is only 5 inches long from nose to end of tail.i get the small sized crickets from petco,tho i noticed a couple of the crickets were bigger then the others.i coated them in rep cal,so now i have about 8 white crickets walkin around the feeder tank LOL.i offered collard greens,escarole shredded carrot,bell pepper,watermelon and banana CUT VERY SMALL.let me know what u think :)

Awww, just a little guy then. :)

I'm not sure how big the "small" crix from Petco would be, but they shouldn't be any larger than the distance between her eyes. She may also feel more comfortable if you just feed her in her regular enclosure instead of moving her to a different one.

Try feeding her just one or 2 of the things that you mentioned that you have given her for "salad" at a time, it may be that there is something in there that she doesn't like, and it is turning her off from the whole thing. Watermelon, green pepper, and banana could add their flavor to everything. Try just the finely diced collards and escarole, and see if she does better with just that as well....and then when she's eating better, try adding new things one at a time and see how she eats them.

As far as her not pooping yet...well, she may just not have eaten enough to make poop, lol. You could try giving her a soak and see if she poops then.....sometimes a good bath will help loosen things up. I have a couple of dragons that poop every single time I give them a bath.....LOL.

ty soo much cathy,ill try limiting the variety of salad until i figure out what she really likes.i did try putting crickets in her normal enclosure,but she doesnt come down from her basking area and the crickets just end up hiding under the papertowels so i thought the feeding tank would work better.like i said earlier she did eat a couple crickets in the feeding tank but i can tell she doesnt really like it in there.so which is the worse of the two?? i also heard that u shoudnt keep any uneaten crickets in the enclosure cuz it will interupt their sleep.hmm im just afraid im gonna do the wrong thing

If she's never coming down from her basking area, are you certain that the temps are high enough in the enclosure?

yes

the basking zone is 101-105,and the lower part of the rock is 95 and the cool zone is 85.when i wake up in the morning it is 70 in her enclosure but it warms back up quickly.i just think she really loves it on that rock.she sleeps with he mouth hangin open.she looks so cute.so what do ya think??and about where to feed her?? ty cathy!

Sometimes with babies having more than 1 or 2 crickets in the tank freaks them out and they won't eat. Try feeding only a couple crickets at a time and see how that goes. If she eats them, throw a couple more in until she stops eating. At that point you can assume she is full and you can do it all over again a few hours later. :)

woohoo i just came back on to report that i tried throwing some crickets in her enclosure again and she went nuts!!she ate about 6! then she had afew bites of greens :) im so happy ty cathy and mike!i guess she feels at home now.there is 1-2 crickets hiding in her tank now tho.is that ok or do i have to find them to take them out? :) woohoo again!

I wouldn't leave them in over night cause they can harm the dragon while it is sleeping. You can catch them or or just squish em. Either way they won't be bothering the dragon anymore.... :rofl:

Often when a baby is sitting on a rock w/ its mouth gapping it could be a bit warm for the B.D so I like to mist them slightly when they do that, Also have tried any dried food? I always add Juvenile B.D food in their salad, some of them will eat it and some of them won't, but my adults LOVE the dried food!

Isn't being a new parent fun?!

yes,its very fun!!i will give the dry food a try :)i do mist her once in awhile and she also takes water droplets off my finger TY! :)
