Popularity of ETBs?

It seems when I look for a nice ETB, there seems to be a huge amount of Chondros available and I have to really hunt for the ETBs.

Is this a matter of fewer people like ETBs than GTPs? Is it that people tend to not sell their ETBs? Is the supply of ETBs low?

If you look around, it just seems very unbalanced that these great animals are completely foreshadowed by the more graceful-looking GTP.

I just purchased a male and a female from different sources and am looking to breed. I am not looking to make bank on these, but it would be nice to see something come of the hobby that I have come to love. I won't ask if I chose wrong as these are the ones to me, I'd prefer ETBs over GTPs any day of the week. Am I of the minority? They always look a little bit angry somehow, I like that.

More graceful looking GTP?
I think ETB's are better looking. I have always liked them, and can't say that I have ever been interested in GTP's...so no, you aren't alone, lol.

I have had them both but it was nearly 20 years ago so I really don't remember much about their differences. I too like the look of the boas over the pythons. It seemed that GTPs tolerated handling a little better than ETB.

I think if I were to get into them again I'd get both. Just being able to show graphically the concept of convergent evolution would be awesome. It still amazes me how similar these two genera appear.

They are different animals and have a reputation for being touchy to keep the rep mostly comes from all the WC animals that have died on people over the years. I keep both and used to have a boat load of each lol now just a few Chondro's and ETbs that have been around here for a long time.. Both Chondro's and Emeralds were considered hard to breed now we know more and you see many more CBB animals. Chondro's do on average lay more eggs than Emeralds lay babies and there are large farms in Indo that produce a huge amount of babies each year so Chondro's are easier to come by. Also their are far more Chondro Morphs which adds to their popularity..

I like things about both of them and at one time or the other each has been my favorite. Randy
