    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Last June, my clutch from a wild caught female x Yellow Belly (possible YB Chocolate according to the breeder I got him from) male hatched out. They weren't exactly what I was expecting!

I've popped them several times and they all seem to be girls! Looks like I might be hanging on to all three... Any opinions or insight on these girls are more than welcome.

None of them scream YB to me (I'm usually pretty good at picking out YBs..but I'm kind of stuck here second guessing myself). I need some fresh eyes on them.

I've bred the sire to another female this year to see if I get any more 'chocolate-y' looking offspring, and have a YB female to pair up with him next season to see if I get any ivories. I've also crossed the female with a Lesser this year, so we'll see what happens.

To start, here's the dam:

She's got weird gray spots on her neck - She doesn't appear to have any greyish spots on her chin, though, so I don't think she's a Shatter. I don't have much experience at all with Shatters, however.

Interesting. The babies certainly all have a similar look. I don't see any yellowbelly but can't say much about chocolate, I don't have any experience with chocolates. Definitely worth holding back in my opinion. That sire is an exceptional yellowbelly as well. Love the reduced, bold pattern.

Vanessa, thanks! These are definitely little weirdos and I'm excited to see what each parent throws this year. :) I wish I knew more about the chocolate gene!

I don't see Chocolate in them. They do all resemble each other though. Here is a Picture of my Chocolate male a Chocolate Mojave and a Chocolate hatchling. The Chocolate Mojave and the hatchling are from my male and are both from 2013. You can see the Chocolate color on the head, darker color on the body and the belly has a "checker boardish" look to it. Chocolates are a very subtle morph. Hope that helps.
