In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi all, Im looking for some opinions on this one. I picked up a 06 sunglow female 6 days ago. last night i tried feeding her a med f/t rat. I left it in her cage over night and this morning it was still there. I noticed she looks kind of lumpy. I contacted the seller to find out if he had her with a male at all and the last time she ate. He said she was never with a male and she was last fed 2 weeks before I got her. So it has been 3 weeks since she last fed. Is it possible some how her cycle was triggered? I attached photos. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lee

a couple thoughts on this... it's a little early in the season but that doesn't mean it's impossible. She's also an '06 so maybe a little young/mature but again, not impossible if she's a big girl. Do you have any pics of how she looks 'normally'? I'm not really seeing the swelling but in my experience the pre-ov swell can be hard to capture in pics. What swelling I do see seems a little low in the body, maybe she's going to give a big BM? Have you noticed any other signs - is she laying on her side or twisting at all?

If you want to breed her this season, then I think you should throw a male in there now! If she is in fact having her pre-ov swell, her pheromones will be going strong and you should see courting within 24-48 hrs.

Good luck! Looks like a really nice high color 'glow!

The fact that it is early in the season is why I am confused about this. I only had her for 7 days and do not have any previous pics. The "swell" is hard to see in the pics. It is more obvious in person. I might be jumping the gun and she might just be getting ready to defecate a big one. If I put a male in with her will he show interest if she is ready?

Yes, in my limited experience (only had 4 Bci litters) if the female is receptive, the male will be all over her within 24-48 hrs. And when I mean all over her, I mean following her around, lots of tounge flicking, riding her around or keeping his head on top or near hers and hopefully some spurring or tail wrapping.

If she is not ready they will usually just hang out either together or in some cases on opposite sides of the cage as far away from each other as possible (I've seen both). If you introduce the male and see no action for 4-7 days, remove him and wait a couple weeks then try again.

My females usually have their pre-ov swell about a month or so after the male has been introduced and is courting. I have seen one pre-ov swell from a female that did not have a male introduced. I normally introduce pairs between Oct-Dec.
