    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Post your Caiman Pictures!

Wat do you feed her?

She enjoys a diet of chicken hearts, gizzards, f/t mice, tilapia, live fish, a little pork(rare) and some beef from time to time(usually the pork and beef come from cutting the fat off and alittle meat around it). Deer season is upon us and im hoping to get one. She will get the heart from it if I get one.

That sounds ok, do you give it full mice often because that seems to be the only whole animal your feeding it. They take a lot of goodness from whole animals like the bones, brains, eyes n guts, ect. Your animal does seem thin pal even on the last pics it looks gut fed like it has just eaten. The base of its tail, back legs & kneck seem thin to me. Also is the animal WC ther for has it been wormed propperly? It could have some sort of parasite you see and might not have nothing to do with what your feeding it.

I am by far no expert pal but i have read a lot on dwarf caiman in the wild and in captivity. And I'm not trying to patronize you I'm just racking my brain trying to help you with your caiman putting weight on. :)

I know the issue. until recently she didn't like to eat much. a little bit here in there. It wasn't until recently that she really has started eating a lot at one time.

Nice pics everyone, i just found this thread and figured i would jump in! lol

I have more I will get up later, they just are not uploaded onto the internet, just in my comp somewhere.

love the leap! When i got mine he was a little under fed, so he would come right out of the water too, i'll try and get a vid up of one of those. Now he is a little more lazy, sometimes he will ever so gently take it from tongs and pull it under slowly.

As for his temperment, he is one mean SOB. He was never handled for his first 3 years except when it was cage cleaning time. Now he gets handled more so he is familiar with me at least, but let go of his neck and he will turn right around and snag the first thing that his mouth hits. If he has been out for an hour or so, he tends to relax a lot, so i can use him for shows and such, which is nice.

a crocodilian spp who doesn't wanna eat?!?! woah! lol no i have had that happen with my guy, i even smack him on the face with it to piss him off and he wont even bite it, just not hungry at the time. But i leave it in there and its gone in a few hours lol

Le Plat* your caiman is looking in a lot better condition than the first pics! Just wana say well done :) has he/she settled in and started feeding a lot better now?
