    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Starting yesterday afternoon, every time I hit an internal link on Fauna (e.g. to see new posts, to open old posts, basically via just browsing), I get the following image flash for about a second on my screen before everything returns to normal. I thought this might be a Windows 10 issue after the updates yesterday, but I'm on my office computer now (Windows 7, no automatic updates, different server, different IP address) and I'm still getting the same issue.

Does anybody else see this flashing screen? This is the first time this has ever happened to me.

Yes it is happening for me, also like you have not seen it happen previously.

Yeah, just noticed this myself late last night. It's not happening on another site that I run on this same server.

I'll pass this on to my programmer to see if he can figure out what is going on.

Well, either my programmer jumped on this right away and fixed it, or the site is self healing......... :shrug01:

My programmer said that apparently it was the FaceBook link at the top of the page causing it. So much for that.........

Actually things have been snappier since the FaceBook link was removed than it has been for a little while now. I thought my browser was on the fritz and actually tried a few others thinking that I needed that change to fix the problems. Of course, I thought it was local to me only. Both my desktop and laptop were doing the same thing.

I guess FaceBorg is trying out some new code in it's efforts to take over the internet completely.

Don't expect to see that link back here any time soon.

I, too, had the flashing bars for at least one day, at home and work.

I'm a little surprised the problem was FB, but not hurt in the least that the link is gone. Makes me wonder if all the odd Fauna "glitches" I've encountered the past several months, ie, freezing, not loading, not responding, etc. were all due to FB.

Working like a charm now.
