In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi Everyone,
I have a question about Ball Python genetics. My wife and I are into Cornsnakes and are very fimiliar with their genetics and I was wondering when calculating Hets. or Poss. Hets. would you do it the same way as you would Corns? We have a couple of Ball Pythons (1.1.1 Normals) but we weren't as interested in breeding them right now as we are our Corns. What I am getting at is we just won a Ball Python on www.reptileauctions.com that is 2005 0.1 Normal Poss. (50%) Het. Caramel Albino. The seller said her mother was a Normal and her father was a Caramel. Now if I am doing my genetics correctly like I would a Cornsnake, it should mean that she is 100% Het. Caramel. If I were to breed lets say a Amel. X Normal Corn I would get all normals but they would all be 100% Het. for Amel. If things are different in the Ball Python world then they are in the Cornsnake world could someone please help me out with this? I will be waiting anxiously for your replies to my problem. #2...if what I think the way things should be is right....anyone got a 1.0 Normal Het. Caramel?.....can't blame me for trying. But anyway, any advise would be great.
Thanks,
Jay & PJ

Jay, I remember seeing that girl on ReptileAuctions, I could have sworn that the ad said the father of this baby was a 100% HET caramel from MKR.

But you are correct, if the father indeed WAS a caramel, the offspring would be 100% hets.

correct

Cathy you are correct.I seem to remember the ad said dad was a 100% het Carmel and mom was a normal. You can check your auctions won and view the actual ad.I almost bid on her but decided not to take the chance.Don't get me wrong it is a nice looking snake, its the possible part that stopped me.

You guys are right. Guess I got a little excited when I was reading her description on the auction site. It does say the father was 100% Het. Caramel.
I am offering 0.1 female 50% Het. Caramel Albino Ball Python. She is from a 100% Het. Caramel Male bred to a Normal Female. The male came from MKR. Thebaby is around 150 grams and feeding on Large Mice. Shipping will be $45 shipped anywhere in the USA. There is no reserve and paperwork can be provided if desired.
You did straighten out the genetics thing in Ball Pyhtons for mr though. It would mean that she is Poss. (50%) Het. Caramel. Need to find me a male that maybe Het. or Poss. Het. for caramel. I guess after that its gonna be a crapshoot...lol. But just think, if she was to drop a couple Caramels. I think I would go nuts.:crazy03: But thanks for everything, I appreciate the help.

time

Keep a positive thought that in around three years you will be producing Carmels.I think you can find a male 100% het Carmel rather easy and at a decent price.Good luck

She IS a pretty girl regardless Jay.....I'd shop around and find a good 100% het male, and give it a shot, anyway. Even if she doesn't prove out, one can NEVER have too many girls, right?? At least that's what I keep telling other half, lol. ;) But it would certainly be a thrill if she DID!
