    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is my first go at Rosys. I have brumated female full of folicles ready to go. But the male I got her was NOT brumated. He is a young 2009 male. Does anyone have experience with non brumated males breeding? And what is the success rate, if any? Thank you

I keep mine year round together in a 20 gallon tank with screen lid on a UL approved human heat pad on medium, about 89 degrees under their hide... Room temp/cool end varies from 68-80 degrees and I just let mine do their thing, when they want to do it. Now is about the time. I'd send it! Meaning, make an introduction.
Some may differ with my method, but I keep 'boas' together because the male will still court/spur her at any given time, even 30 days before dropping, which I think is stimulating the young to 'wake up' and get ready for departure. lol.
I think a lot of people mess up on that note by separating. To each their own, but I see it often in 'boas' as I've dealt with them for 10 years or so. This applies to BCI's and Rosys' only. May work with others, but I have not worked with others.

So you don't remove the male at all? Even near delivery? This is my first year breeding Rosys as well and I was wondering when to take the male out. I've heard that new people often mistake the swelling in the female for being gravid when in reality she is ovulating, and they remove the male at exactly the wrong time. Didn't want to chance that.

I have never brumated my rosy boas, and they have been very productive. I now separate the male and female after breeding. I was out of town for a few days, I didn't know she gave birth until the male regurgitated 4 babies...then he died.
