    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Cool, this reminds me of when I hit a mouse too hard and it's started to bleed from the mouth and.. it was gross. I had a big break down after that..

i have a problem with mom rats not producing enough milk, the babies look like weaned mice with their eyes opened, not plump like they should be, it's bummer to have to off the mom when she is done. Anyone else have this happen?

I personally never had a problem with that so far. :shrug01:

only 2 ways I have seen that happen.

#1.....mom isn't given enough water and doesn't stay hydrated...but they normally kill the babies prior to it affecting the litter.

#2...multiple mom's in the same cage and dominate mom steals all the babies...litters are far enough apart that her milk dries up before the second litter has developed (or the larger babies aren't letting the little ones feed at all)

they all have water and i house one mom to each tank, ive had this happen way before and all the babies survive, i end up fostering them out to a different mom to pull them the rest of the way through.

might sound cruel...but are they haing huge litters? If not, they'd be boa food if they were here.

Awww, to cute! I see a little Rayne baby in Bill's pic. I have just scimmed the surface. I haven't feed live Rats yet nor have I breed. I saw smaller Rats at the Pet Store for Lickity and I just couldn't do it!! It looked like Rayne. Does anybody else here every feel bad and how do you deal with it? I play both sides of the field and it sucks sometimes.

Nope dont feel bad, i can have a very friendly rat and thump i the next day, thats the facts of life, i learn to deal with it. If they have cute or different patterns, they live.

I normally tie them to a chair and put bamboo shoots under their claws while making them listen to eminem. Then I burn their whiskers off with a lighter. And to finish them off....I put them in a motorized wheel driven by a diehard while the energizer bunny watches in disgust.

Um...

Um, cows and pigs and sheep are pretty cute, too. I think elk and buffallo are adorable, but that doesn't stop me from eating them... Things can be cute AND edible, why else would people invent cake decoration? :D

Great pics!! I think they helped me decide what to do about breeding rodents. I don't think I could do it. They're too cute! It helps OH so much for them to already be dead and frozen when I get them. Sorta depersonalizes it or something.
