    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This juvi/sub just showed himself to be a boy recently. The nice thing, he stays pretty red most of the time. He was looking particularly snazzy tonight.

Too bad he doesn’t have his original tail. That color overrides that though. Simply amazing!

very nice!!that is one smoking red looking leo!!!

cody tail lose in cresteds is very common (and they do not regrow them) so common some people think that tailess breeders make better breeders... so with cillis it's not the tail, it's the gecko!!

Indeed.

It's the new hybrid - Rhacodactylus Macularis . . . LOL

Seriously, thanks for all the nice comments. Outside of screwing up the white balance on the pix - it's a pretty accurate picture of the intensity of red it shows. It's deep and solid in it's color.

Yeah I knew that. I’ve noticed more males without tails. Do you know why?

Keep a nice crested for me Robin because I’m going to get one from you in few months. :D

I'm not sure whether or not males are more likely to lose their tails - but I do know that you just don't find adults in the wild with tails.

With this male - nothing in particular happened that I was aware of. They seem to lose them easily - heaven knows I'm careful. That's the funny thing - last night, I'm cleaning the cage of one of my juvis - a crested tries to escape, and I accidently nabbed him by the tail. He's hanging there, and I'm figuring - "Uh oh, there goes the tail." I gingerly put him down - and nothing happened. Tail's still attached. Go figure.

After keeping them over the years - I'm less worried about tails. When I see a crested, I'm looking at color, pattern and body structure.

Thanks Monte. I guess I’m just used to leos and fat tails because they need their tails…
