In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Rep Points?

i was gunna give me you rep points but it said

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Bringerofdoom again.

guess you cant just give the same rep points every time, thaats good.

don't we get to see who exaclty is posting the rep points once they become a contributor?

Yes that is true.

Also, Vince you can't give or take any rep points if you don't have any rep power. Rep power is the number next to the green square. If you have a red square you obviously are in the negative category and therefore you don't have any rep power points.

I was just noticing that guys with bad reps, and I am not referring to you vince I think you've done a pretty good job of turning around so far, and they only have one red square no matter how bad their rep is.

I think they should have more red squares just the way you more green ones for a good rep. It's sort of misleading as it is.

i have like -50 to -90 rep points, but only 4 (2 of them where about rep points lol) posts where people left neg points. I still dont get it.

also I dont like how i mean just becuse someone disagres with you they give you neg points. this is a chat board mostly and people should be able to give their opnion with out worrieing about neg points but i dont know who would worrie about something like that.

are you sure? i just gave you points, let me know if they went threw.

You can go through the motions but you can't effect my reputation points since you have 0 rep power points. Positive points left will have a green square and negative will have a red square. The square from you was gray but there wasn't any addition or subtraction to my points.

The number 21 (rep power) you see next to my green squares is how many reputation points I can either give or take from someone. [Ahh, the power is going to my head :dgrin:]

ohhh i get it now. the more i learn about rep points the more stooopid i think they are. ( feel free to give me another -100000 points if ya want)

sorry for the mutil posts. but how come when i hover the mouse over my red block it says between -10 and -49 but when I click on my little scale thing it says i have -8?

Vince

I think it should just say YOU SUCK! But dont hate on me dude, I gave you points for non PC comments.

The point system can be fun, or if you let it, it can be annoying. Actually, everything in life is pretty much what you make of it.

I would certainly recommend that y'all become members, for many very much more important reasons than tracing your rep points, but that is fun too.....

when you say members you mean donateing members right? I really havent been selling anything online lately. But when i start again I do plan on giveing a little bit for everything I sell threw fauna.

Thank you, it is important to do that and I appreciate you thinking of it.

so if you gave someone points, does it subtract from your points??

No.

When you hover of the block that is what everyone else can see. When you click on the scale it it tells only you the exact amount you have. You can also check your amound through the UserCP.

Now I see you have points to give since you are back on the postitve side. Figures, you couldn't have waited to give me points until you had some to give could you? :raspberry

I think the rep points are and sometimes can be unfair

I post to a thread, on my concerns about someone who I guess has had IBD. When I inquired about it next morning I went from +14 REP to -whatever I have now Green to red.

Great isn't it :hot:

Nothing wrong really with letting a person know you agree or disagree with their opinion. I like to use them, good or bad, cause it's better than posting "hey good point" or " that is a good post" or "that was a mean comment" or "the person already apologized, let it go", it's better than making the thread go off topic or have a bunch of unnecessary posts.

Just don't take them too seriously, and like Lucille said they can be fun. I do hate it though when someone decides to "vote" on a post, but doesn't leave a comment. good or bad, at least let the person know why you agree or disagree with a post.

Reputation power

So I know reputation power has to do with the amount of posts the time you have been a member and your reputation currently.

I have 0 rep power points

But have a reputation of 189

what is the algorithm you use I am just trying to understand this.
