I couldn't locate the original thread, althouygh to be honest I'm in something of a hurry so didn't loom that hard...
Remember how the replies used to be sometimes topical and related and appropriate? Such as "Got another picture?" or "When was it born?" or "What is it eating?" and replies were most frequently off topic, inflamatory or absurd?
How the classifieds turned into a mini BOI complete with discussion forums?

Two replies, both critical of the original post and poster, adding nothing constructive and essentially detracting from the worth of the original post. We have discussion forums where the validity of venomoids can and has been debated. Tacking controversy onto someone's ad is not the place for it.
If every ad can turn into a flame war and debate, I have to wonder what would motivate people to continue to post them? I don't like venomoids either, but there's no rule stating that they can't be the subject of wanted ads... Why should this poster be subject to ridicule and have his efforts to search for what he wants turned into a circus?
Heck, I know at least a few posters on here don't like hybrids or morphs either... Does this mean that every post is now fair game for a debate about the subject?
It may be only minimal evidence here, but I suspected very strongly that the same crap which caused the ability to reply to be removed in the first place wouldn't have changed. The ability of moderators and ferrets to reply with a link to the BOI... that was a good way to do it. The ability for every Joe MoralRampage (including myself) on here to reply is only going to result in negative situations being made worse, innocent posters being harassed (remember how someone was blasted for brokering a hippo? Nothing more, just brokering it.) and a dropoff in classified use. Well... legitimate classified use anyway, I'm sure there will be plenty of posts.
Perhaps the decision should be reconsidered here...
