Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was thinking about buying a cage or two from them. Rich seems to be a good guy and answered my email very quickly. I don't want to spend a lot of money on cages without having other people's opinions and stories about a product. The reason I prefer Reptile Basics caging is the 3/8" over the Animal Plastics 1/2". I would like to keep the cages light without going super thin.
 
I have several of the racks and love them. Going to be buying some more racks soon. The iris bins much better then other brands as well. Rich is a really good guy too.
 
Are the cages built solidly? I heard the boaphiles tend to be flimsy sometimes because of the 1/4" material and AP cages are heavy due to the 1/2" material.
 
I don't own an RB cage, but I have checked them out in person. They are VERY sturdy. I lifted it off the display table, and I must admit that it was heavier than I expected, but by no means would I call it a heavy cage.

There were also quite a few stacked up next to the table. I saw no indication of sagging whatsoever.

I plan on ordering from RB for my next cage.
 
I had never owned a commercial cage ever until last fall. After a few months of needing new caging, but not having the time to build any, I finally broke down and decided some would have to be bought.
I checked out every cage on the market and decided that the RBI cages were the best choice by far.
I had Rich build me six of the 3x2 cages with heat and lights and I couldn't be more impressed with them. They are the perfect balance between sturdiness and weight. The groove routed underneath for the T-stat probe is a great feature too.
I had seen Boaphile cages but I personally didn't care for them compared to the RBI cages, they just didn't seem to have the rigidity. AP cages are nice, but heavy and require assembly, and just don't look quite as smooth as the RBI cages.

I fully intend to add some more of Rich's cages to the snake room this year, they have been a great investment.
 
I have a bunch of Rich's 3x2x1 cages...They are great for small to mid-sized snakes...I have his 4' cage for my SD...I only wish he made bigger cages that were taller...But his cages are top notch...The double doors are great on the 4'ers because they help you with the aggressive feeders...:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
