Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was not sure where to ask about this situation and how I should approach
this...Due to I don't want to just put it out in the open and have yet another unnecessary urnating match bounding up the site with garbage. :shrug01:

Being i have been provided with bad reputation points! brings this to my attention that their are going to be some problems with people giving out good or bad points to people that dont deserve them, Either to brand them bad in anyway they can or boost their buddy's. Is their anything in place to combat this or should their be?

Question is this..Is this considered abuse?....giving points because one party is chaped because they could not provide proof of what they posted. Or that they even were directly involved in the deal!

I for one do not play games like a 2 year old and do not put feed back positive or bad if i do not feel strong enough about a situation. Nor will we ever give missleading info to hurt anyone in their personal lives or buisness.
I don't think I have ever acted in any other way on this site or any other in a bad way I am only human and at times emotions take over! which is just human nature. out of all the years of hard work and money lost by money owed I could fill the BOI with bad deals done to us. It is just not in my nature, I understand people have hard times as do we at times that is just LIFE! We have taken the good with the bad and sucked it up and gone on.

But yet I am a person of honesty if anyone has had any problem that is A! valid issue I sure would not hide from it I would confront it head on and own up to what is true but yet should we sit back and just take it when it is damaging and not even a shread of truth to the crap being trown out their.
 
one more question

I was wondering if a person gains X amount of negitive point would the person getting bad points be booted off the site?

We are not looking to create more un-wanted garbage and we will do our best to contribute to the site in any way we can.

what are the repercutions of getting bad rep. points.

And if this is not the place for this kind of question please advise and it will be droped and left as that! just did not know where to ask for such advise.
 
In general, if I see any system abused I will look at it in different levels. If the system itself appears flawed because of too much abuse by too many people, then the system itself will be restricted or removed. If the system is being abused by a limited number of people, then those people will be fined and suspended.

But in no instance will I place myself in the middle of personal spats and arguments.

This is probably one of the biggest drawbacks I can see about charging a membership fee here. People might get the idea into their heads that I now owe then something from this site. :eek3:
 
I see this point system as a way to have fun and draw traffic. I see the forums and the BOI as showcases where the professionals here can talk about the business, and their products. I think I speak for many when I say if a vendor shows knowledge and honesty, they will not be affected one way or the other by these new points.

I see this site as a gathering place for the knowledgeable and a terrific place for vendors. It is well known that the more time people spend in a commercial establishment, the more likely they are to make purchases.

That's why malls have their little snack centers and food areas. (No, I am not saying we should serve smoked snake tacos....but the more time people can spend here having a bit of fun, the better for Fauna, IMHO; and the rep points are fun.)

I received a few bad rep points from one or two misguided souls and I paid them no mind, but have had lots of fun with the (major) amount of points I have received which naturally have been very positive lol......

I think that no matter what you do, someone, somewhere, will complain. Close your eyes, and visualize these aggravating complainants stuck in a pit with all the baddest of the bad bad guys who have crossed Fauna's threshold during its long history, plus a large quantity of venomous reptiles, with only warm beer and goat cheese canapes for sustenance; and then imagine that a bus load of IRS attorneys accidentally falls into the pit too. And whoever else you don't like.

There, doesn't that feel better?

Thanks your humor is a bit lifting I have enjoyed your post and input I at first did not understand the points system but I will figure it out someday but your advice is appreaciated.

If my post sounded like I was asking for a personal favor it was not my intention. and my choice of words the use of contributing may have been the wrong choice and it was ment in the context of applying as much professionalism and positivity with any of my actions with the use of the site to help progress with the site not to hinder it.
And the example I used was that an, example only
I only donate to the site because I wanted to and felt it was the right thing to do for the use of the site not for any personal favor or expecting any personal favors and sorry if that's how it came accros...Or sounded.

Many times I find that what I have to put in words in wrighting/Typing is sometimes taken wrong or read out of the context than what it actualy ment, I'm just not the typing word worrier that most people are. In other word...Reads and sounds other than what it ment. And hope others will understand that and ask for clairification if they feel it needs clarifying.
