    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reputations - a *short* primer.... (and a word about User Notes)

Sasheena - it's not your computer. I'm playing around with some font and color options in the Admin section. There doesn't seem to be any time for me to do this when someone isn't logged on. And I certainly can't see taking the site offline just to play around a bit like this.

But heck, if I forget and leave something REALLY ugly looking in place, let me know about it. I really shouldn't do this sort of stuff when I am tired......

I was just looking at my reputation points in my User CP and noted the picture below ..... three of the reputation points have a little green rectangle... one has a blue/black/purple (whatever) colored little rectangle. Is there a significance to the colors of the little rectangles?

Forgive me if I am wrong (which my wife says happens although I don't see it) but those little boxes are a visual of that particular person's reputation. The more good reputation the person has the more of those little boxes you'll see.
 
Glad to know it wasn't ME! :) I had visions of my computer crashing in my head.

It's working fine today... and I don't mind a change in font from time to time.

Thanks also for the note on the reputation of the giver influencing the icon in the User CP....

funky thing... this reputation biz!
 
Steven- I think you are right if you are talking about the little clustered rectangles; but the individual rectangles near each comment appear to be tied to being positive or negative. Most of mine are green, one is purple which appears to be neutral, and one person had the bad taste to give me a red rectangle which is negative. I can't please everyone, I guess......
