In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

For anyone that feeds roaches to you're leos, what do you make a gutload to keeep your roaches fat and nutritious(sp?) for your geckos? I am looking to make something to keep me lateralis healthy for my leos. Tired of using dog food and and fish food for roach feed. Any ideas of some good stuff to put in the feed?

Hi there,

I have a very large collection of Rhacodactylus geckos (cresteds, gargoyles, leachianus, chahoua). I am currently feeding them the T-Rex diets. I found that this same diet is a GREAT gutload for roaches, as it is nutritionally balanced with a good amount of protein. I feed it either dry or wet. Along those same lines (similar formula) is the T-Rex ILF (insect loading formula).

You can buy these in 2.5 lb containers.

I raise my B. dubia colonies on this stuff and they love it. I also will give them fruits/veggies and only very occasionally dog food. I am a bit hesitant to feed dog food because of the dyes that are usually in it, so I buy organic dogfood lol!

Hope that helps

Nicole sells the T Rex Foods, talk to her about purchasing some!! I just got some from her and the service was great!!! She was right there to answer my questions and sent my order out ASAP... Thanks, Nicole, just wanted to recommend you to the public!! (QUICK PLUG!!)

Hey thanks Ramie! ;)

yes I do recommend it as a gut load, but I still do supplement the roaches with fresh fruits, veggies, occasionally organic dogfood, and very occasionally meat scraps.

The roaches are great--it's a free 'gecko dish cleaning service'! I put all the gecko dishes from the night before in there and the eat all the left over food-CLEAN!

Also,

I've found too, that leaving dog food for long periods in your roach's cage can tend to cause a 'food mite' and/or mold problem. I havn't had that problem with the T-Rex diets, however I what I do to prevent this problem altogether is to offer food only every other day, and remove all the remaining food in the cage so nothing 'lingers' in there.

More good info.

Nicole,
So you do not have a problem offering food every other day to the roach colonies? That would solve some of my problems. I also am using the water crystals for watering, any problems? I leave them in 24/7 at the moment and add or change out everyday. Also been keeping fish food, puppy chow, dog food run through the food processor available everyday as well as fruit and vegetables every other day at least. They really devour apple quarters.
Please PM me as I would like to purchase food from you.
Thanks
Mark D.
