In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This is like 2 questions for anyone to help me with.

1) We just got sand for our beardies ( I know some think its bad but its my fiances choice ) how can we get the sand to dry out quick? *The store had it stored out side and condensation took its course and its not exactly dry*
2) What are some things I can do to bring out my new dragons colors? I hope to take pictures soon of him to send to a woman who wants to breed to him ( ALREADY!) in the future and I she wants to get a pic to show her fellow breeder friends. *ANY INFO HELPS GUYS!*

you could try spreading the sand out on a cookie sheet or something. sorry, don't have any answers to your other question. :)

First, make sure it is sterilized play sand and not regular sand. Sift out any little rocks and pebbles so that your dragons wil not ingest them. As far as drying goes, it will dry out in a day after you place it in your cage setup and have heat on it.

As for the dragons colors you will want to wait until after it has absorbed some heat for the day to take a pic. From my experience they turn their better colors on after they warm up. There isn't much aside from proper diet to "bring out" their color. Just make sure it is warm, well fed, and in a good mood and take the picture.

Do you know who the person is that you will be sending your dragon to for breeding? If not I would suggest you take into consideration whether or not they are legitimate and get know their husbandry practices so you will not recieve a sickly dragon after the season.

If the sand is for your newly hatched dragons, I would suggest buying repti-sand. It is a much finer granule of sand and poses less risk of impaction for the smaller dragons.

The woman is from a convention we went to in Shelbyville KY. I have been talking to her through emails and I explained what colors he was when he was outside and she said she would really like to breed to him in the near future to maybe see if him and one of her females would throw some really awesome colored babies. I dont know exactly how she houses her dragons but she seems like she nows her stuff, She breeds them for a living and when we was talking to her at the convention she seemed like she knew alot about them, plus the dragon she had with her looked in pretty good health.

My beardies have their best color in five situations
1. The male sees the females or they see him
2. They are outside
3. They see food outside of their cage
4. They are sleeping
5. Right after they warm up in the morning
