    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is i was wondering if sand paper would be ok to use as subtrate,ive lost one baby,i had them on playsand,and have been advised to take the sand out untill there older,shes only 3 weeks old. Ive tried using paper and paper towel,but the crix hide underneath . thanx every1

yeah i dont think that would be a good idea.......
Keep using the paper towels and/or newspaper. You can also just try cutting the paper and doubling tape over to secure it in place if the crickets hiding is that much of an issue.

Kathy,
My babies will be 5 weeks this Friday. I use newspaper. I just take some tape and tape the edges down real good. Then when I feed I watch and if one gets under the edge I chase it out so that they can catch it. They have now gotten to where they watch for me to chase them out and go for them. I also place their basking rock on one edge to hold it down and their food dish on another to hold it down. Paper towels or newspaper are much safer for them.

On another forum sandpaper was brought up also, but i would think it would cause more problems than solutions. Papertowel and newspapare are better. I like tile myself and use carpet too.

I wouldnt use sandpaper unless you wanted your beardies have rug burns across there bellys.Wouldnt buying sandpaper and replacing it everytime you clean the tank get to be a waste of money.

Iwould defintley say NO on the sandpaper part..might be good for rubbing down nails but not skin!! :) another simple solution to feeding with newspaper, get a small 20 gallon or ten gallon tank just to use as a feeder tank. We have a 30 gallon we use wit our dragons as their insect feeder tank...we just have soem reptile carpet cut to the lebgth of the cage and put ductr tape underneath it to hold it in place ( works fine for us) newspaper for us as a substrate in the feeder tank was a hassle because of the crix getting underneath there but also the dragons woudl crumble it up and just get stuff every where and help all the other crix hide as well.

ok thanks everyone. I certainly wont be using sandpaper. Someone suggested it,so i thought id ask you guys,thanx. XXX
