• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Scheduled down time for server - 03/15/2022 - 03/16/2022

Just got this email from my server host.

As part of our continued commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients, it is required that we perform routine maintenance on our networking systems.

Generally routine maintenance requires seconds of downtime that is barely noticed by our clients or is not noticeable at all due to the redundancy built into the network. However, once in a while, more extensive maintenance work is required where more extensive downtime is required.

A number of pieces of networking hardware used to connect each server from our racks to our core network is now at end of life and to ensure that we continue to provide the uptime and reliability that you are used to, we will be replacing the networking hardware used to connect your server(s) to our core network.

These maintenance works will require us to physically unplug all hardware and servers from the network temporarily, while the old hardware is removed and the new hardware installed.

We will be undertaking this hardware replacement at the following date/time:

Start Date/Time: March 15 2022 11pm MST time (GMT-7)
End Date/Time: March 16 2022 5am MST time (GMT-7)

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. During this time, you will see your website, VPS, or server go offline. We anticipate that your website, VPS or server will be offline, twice, for up to 30 minutes at a time.

Well, when it rains, it pours, apparently.

It has come to our attention from our hardware supplier that there is a critical security update to the BIOS of the motherboard of your system. We will be working to patch all of the affected systems over the following period:

Start Date/Time: March 15 2022 11pm MST time (GMT-7)
End Date/Time: March 18 2022 7am MST time (GMT-7)

The wide maintenance window above is to cater for the fact we have clients in a large range of timezones. Please note that we will generally apply the update to your server between the hours of 11pm and 6am in your local timezone.

While your system is being updated, you will see up to 30 minutes of downtime.
