    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It came to mind this morning when I was looking for information on silkworms. I also started searching for crix, anything pertaining to reptile support on google or msn engines.
A Kingsnake forum ALWAYS comes up for one of my top sources.
I rarely see Fauna come up, if at all
So most newbies will be guided to kingsnake for info.
Is there some way to get Fauna to show up there as well? Is there something that can be done to send these people here as well?
Anyway, it was just a thought, as I started noticing this I kept on punching in more and more info into the search engines and they always came up.
Not really sure where I am going with this just that I noticed it and was wondering if something could be done so Fauna comes up as well??

Well, this site is heavily visited by the search engine spiders, which can often be seen in the Who's Online section on the front page. Many of the "guests" logged in are actually spider programs, from what I have seen from analyzing the IP addresses of them.

It's probably a matter of volume, I would guess. The more hits a search engine spider gets on a particular keyword, the higher the site would get ranked in their database. I don't think here is any surprise in the fact that there are more posts in the discussion forums at KS than there are here. So one would naturally expect the sort of results you are getting.

I have done a spell where I was paying for sponsor advertising on Overture, but it was proving to be very expensive. Minimum of 10 cents per click, and I was getting at least 400 clicks per day. You can see how that would add up QUICKLY, and I just couldn't justify that sort of expense for a free site. Odd thing was that the number of new signups didn't change at all when I had this pay per click turned on or off, so that sort of puzzled me. I guess someone wanting to cause you some grief COULD sit there clicking on your link costing you 10 cents each time........ So I discontinued it.

So, in a nutshell, until volume of traffic in the discussion forums increases, I don't see anything I can really do about this.

But thanks for the suggestion.
