    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

set up for a beardie laying eggs

We use a large rubbermaid tub, the ones you can not see through. Maybe 70qts, approx. 24" long x 18" wide x 16" deep. We mix bagged topdirt with playsand, about 50/50. mix it very well. We put the beardie in the tub, a screen over the top, and a 50-60 watt basking light on top. The sand mix should be about 10" deep and warm, at least 82-84 degrees. Make sure the sand is fairly moist, otherwise it can cave in on your girl. They will dig to the bottom, then dig forward. Sometimes you have to put the girl in and start a tunnel for them. Good luck.

It would look something like this. :)

It takes an average of 21-22 days for gestation in my experience. I usually move the female into the egg laying bin on day 18 and just wait. Sometimes they find themselves in the bin and are comfortable enough to lay that day. Other times it takes a couple days and during that time I just keep the medium moist, warm and stable so her cave doesn't collapse. I offer food but more often than not they refuse it. Once they start refusing the food you will know your close.

We put our females in the tub for a few hrs. each day, then put them back in their cage the rest of the time. Sometimes you need to modify the tub to make it more appealing to the beardie. You can put some "clutter" in, like chunks of wood etc. also try digging her a partial tunnel. We watch for them to start digging in their cage as a pretty sure sign. You can see/feel the eggs in their bellies, they look like they ate a bag of marbles.

Do you find that your beardies lay the eggs in the late afternoon to evening??? If mine were to only be put in a few hours of the day, thats when I would do it. As you can see in the pic I use a large 55 gallon tank and just fill the one side with laying medium. That way she still has all the room she needs to move around when not in the mood to lay.

Thanks for all the help .She laid 10 perfect eggs last night about 6:30 so I have my fingers crossed any helpfull hints on hatching these guy would be great.

I will assume you put them in an incubator. As long as you have them at the right temps and the proper moisture everything should be fine.

If you have any questions feel free to ask them here or contact me privately.

Good luck,
