    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a male red argentine whose name is Imhotep that I bought about a monther so ago and he doesn't seem to be shedding. I don't think it's a humidity problem because I mist his cage every day. I keep his cage at proper temperatures. It doesn't seem to be affecting his health - he's eating and drinking and behaving pretty normally but I'm a little concerned.

My first question is how often do tegus shed?

Second, what should I do? I'm thinking about taking him to the vet but if anybody has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I want him to be in the best of health and I'm concerned.

Thanks! :D

How old is your red? Also, is he eating any soft fruit? You can also let him soak in warm water for about a half hour. This will often times loosen their sheds.

I'm not exactly sure how old he is. He's young..Around 6 months I believe. I've been trying to feed him some pear but he's not going for it. I'll try up-ing his fruit intake and see if that helps. Is there any type of fruit that tegus prefer over others? Or any kind of fruit I should avoid?

Thanks for your help. :D

Try some apple or grapes. Cut them up real fine and mix it in with the ground raw turkey.
